Convoluted Compliments #16
The Hum
Often, whether it be when you are cooking dinner, pottering around the house, or exiting the car, you hum. Maybe it’s a song that you’ve just heard, one that’s been stuck in your head for weeks, or a made up tune. But in this vibration of vocal chords comes an immense dose of comfort that is unrivalled. As the corridors of the house echo your hum, it is a reassurance — that the past still beats with the rhythms of nostalgia, the present remains, well, present, and the future exists in a swirling lens of anxiety, uncertainty, mystery, but most importantly, hope.
