Don’t Promote Your Stories On Social Media, Promote Within Medium First

Social media is not bad, but you want to get internal views first. Start promoting your stories within Medium. Here’s how. From my post “How to Promote Your Stories Within Medium”.
- Write great stuff and refer back to it. Meaning: Link between your posts, so people read more.
- Get into publications. Duh. Still a big thing for getting more views. The trick is to go niche-based, not follower-based.
- Comment. I firmly believe commenting and engaging is the way to build a loyal reader base. It’s how I’ve built mine.
- Tagging other writers builds valuable links and relations. Don’t spam though!
- Use shortform content to promote your long stories just like I do here. This is the best alternative to social media posts. And it works. Shortform posts can also go viral.
- Repeat.
