I want to run long distances barefoot.
There, I’ve said it.
Out loud.
I’m going to run at least one marathon barefoot in 2018 and secretly, sssh, don’t tell anyone, I want to run further… much further.
You may not know the name, I certainly didn’t until I stumbled across this blog post. Wow, there’s a guy, a Mark Baumer guy and he’s running barefoot across America!
I had to investigate further.
It took me precisely 6 days to discover that running wasn’t for me and that I’d never ever be “a runner”. It’s a familiar story: I went out too hard, too fast, too far, too soon, too frequently… thinking I could go from zero to hero. My knees weren’t ready for that and they let me know in no uncertain terms!
