There are currently two things I think you can do to express the belonging of a group either to or within a thort. I had a feeling there was another one — I’ll come and do an edit if I find it.

Answering the question

(1) A path step can go from a thort to a group. Kinda basic, but does sort of achieve the point, I think.

(2) A sphere (which essentially is a set of Thortgroups) can be embedded in a thort. So not quite a group in a thort, but rather a group of groups in a thort.

Below, click on the embedded sphere, to navigate to it. Zoom out to navigate back to the parent sphere.

By the way, as well as embedding spheres in Thortspace, you can also link them together. There’s two ways of doing this.

Some articles on Linking and Embedding spheres are here:

How can I make a group of groups?

A sphere essentially is a group of groups, but if you want something smaller than a sphere but bigger than a group, you could:

(1) Use categories or thort-to-thort paths to identify subgroups within a group – the group then effectively becomes a group of groups

(2) Use group-to-group paths to connect a series of groups together. These groups thereby become a group of groups that are all connected on the same path.
