What We’re Talking About
This week at The Eleven HQ. Updated every Friday.
…and by talking we mean “these are the links that we send to each other in down-time”. Contained below is everything you need to catch up on this week then, from attention-grabbing articles (what we inventively call General) to slightly nerdy tech/social media blogs (see, unsurprisingly, Tech/Social) and of course, the extra bits and bobs that the internet threw in our face and made us laugh and cry in equal measure (called Random for ease of definition).
Enjoy…

Introducing “making pretty”
We’ve always believed the world’s a pretty place, and we want to keep it that way. Today, we’re immensely excited to launch the latest venture from The Eleven.
making pretty delivers compelling, quick and affordable creative design and development against a range of briefs, from branding to print, digital to social, and everything in between. No project is too big or small, no challenge unreasonable.
For the past several years, we’ve been passing on our clients’ constant requests for this kind of work to a number of our great friends… agencies and freelancers who we can trust to fulfil good work. It’s always been an ambition of ours to create the ability to service these needs ourselves, but only once we knew we could invest the time in becoming absolute experts. We like to be the best, and don’t do anything unless we know we can be. As BORN SOCIAL, our second venture, enters its third year — that time is now.
Over the past few months, making pretty has been piloted to meet demand from existing clients who wanted to translate our understanding and approach to brilliant brand marketing into other disciplines. We’re excited that we are now able to open our doors to select projects outside our existing stable of clients and friends. As is the trademark to our business models, making pretty is built on a community of young and ambitious talent, so we can deliver exciting, fresh and strikingly relevant work with a focus, as always, on absolute value for money.
making pretty bolsters The Eleven’s ability to solve the challenges of the brands we love, sitting alongside our youth insight and strategy team atYOUTH, and full-service social media agency BORN SOCIAL.
