5,000,000? You’ve all earned MOAR Trailhead badges than the population of New Zealand.

We can’t quite believe it ourselves, but in just three short years, you’ve helped us reach our biggest milestone yet — 5 million Trailhead badges!

So what do 5 million badges even look like? Well, if a badge were a mile, we could go to the moon and back more than 10 times. If a badge was $1, we could buy 1 million boxes of Girl Scout cookies. If a badge was a year, we could go back in time to when the Grand Canyon was formed. And yes, if a badge were a person, we would outnumber the total population of New Zealand!

And it’s all thanks to YOU!

We simply could not have done this without you. Every single one of our Trailblazers has helped us to:

Trailhead skills for everyone.

To make you as successful as possible, we added to our original admin and dev content to bring you soft skills for a more all-encompassing learning experience. Content on everything from equality to culture, storytelling to coaching, hiring to career exploration has been designed to complement the in-demand technical skills and help you become the most well-rounded Salesforce professional you can be.

Did you know, our first ever badge was Salesforce Platform Basics? If you earned this one, you’re one of our trailblazing pioneers!

From in-person “Badge-a-thons” that are popping up everywhere, to the Summer of Trailhead back in the day, not to mention the ever popular, ranking-up campaigns like #MyTrailAhead and Seize the Trail, you’ve fully embraced the gamification of learning on a grand scale.

And just recently, Trailhead for Students spearheaded the first ever Student Trailhead Badge Championship, where over 10,000 students from 120 colleges across India participated in India’s largest learn-a-thon to date.

But it’s not all just about fun and games. There’s real-world value to learning with Trailhead, proving to the world that you all really know your Salesforce-stuff. And because of that;

  • You’ve dedicated millions of hours of learning to gaining in-demand skills, plus you’ve cumulatively completed more than 22M challenges!
  • You’ve committed to keeping your skills fresh as Salesforce technology takes us all to the future through the continuous learning of refreshed Trailhead content three times a year (alongside the Salesforce major releases, including our major overall for Lightning)
  • You’ve driven us to help you even MOAR by developing new features like social logins, the personalized home page, digital resume with skills graph, and the vanity URL
  • You’ve inspired us to keep Trailhead weird with zany projects like Build a Mars Communication Uplink and Build a Cat Rescue App (AI that recognizes cat breeds!)
Hold on to your (Ranger) hats! myTrailhead is coming soon…

That’s definitely NOT all folks.

As demand for Salesforce-skilled people is going to create 3.3 million jobs in the Salesforce eco-system by 2022, we don’t plan on slowing down anytime soon. And you shouldn’t either! So go after that certification you’ve had your eye on, wow your boss with that killer new app, or even start a whole new career. Whatever you do, just keep on learning,

In fact, how about we pledge to get to the 10 million badge mark in 2018 together? Promise to keep learning, and we’ll promise to keep the learning fun with new content to boost your already awesome skills! Shout out your next learning goal or share what’s been the best thing you’ve learned on Trailhead so far. #Trailto10M

We’re in this together. Thanks for being such a special part of our community because, at the end of the day, we do it all for you with #Trailheart love.

Happy trails.
