Unibright’s 2020 Recap and 2021 Outlook
2020 has been another very exciting year for all those in the blockchain space. For us, 2020 was the year Unibright got recognized as the leading provider for business integration with blockchain, materializing in our joint-venture with Provide, our leading roles in Baseline and the EEA and of course in our work with customers like Coke One North America.
We want to have a short recap and an outlook on 2021.
2020 recap
1In Q1 2020, we formed the EEA Integration Taskforce “EMINENT”, which we have been leading ever since. We presented our Freequity concepts around Crypto Custody and Liquidity, brought UBT to Kyber, Idex US and Uniswap and were part of the founding members of the Baseline Protocol.
2In Q2 2020, we hosted a public AMA and presented issuing, liquidity pools, simulation and trading with Unibright Freequity. UBT got listed on Bittrex. We showcased a Baseline demo with an SAP <> Microsoft Dynamics 365 integration and explained the prominent role of the Unibright Connector in detail. We partnered with Provide and announced our Baseline project with Fraunhofer IPK.
3In Q3 2020, we released our Open-Source Blockchain Explorer “Transthereum” and published a demo of our Freequity Trading Component. We launched our project with CONA (Coke One North America), to baseline the North America Coca-Cola Bottling supply chain. Our UB Framework was made available via the SAP App Center.
4In Q4 2020, UBT got confirmed for Coinbase Custody. We launched a Baseline course on “Ivan on Tech Blockchain Academy”. We deepened our Partnership with Provide, resulting in the incorporation of the Unibright Framework and the usage of UBT inside the Provide tech-stack. Together with clients, existing and new partners like concircle, we hosted the Baseline-as-a-Service Demoday and presented our 2020 progress to the enterprise world.
In 2020 UBT has been positioned as the Universal Business Token. With the incorporation of the Unibright Framework and the inclusion of UBT into Provide and Provide Payments, UBT’s distribution, value recognition and utility has raised significantly.
2021 outlook
In 2021, more utility and sustainable additions to UBT can be expected. Legally compliant and future-proof, these additions will be developed around the productive usage of Unibright’s software in Enterprise Blockchain integration projects: Defining and building the “right mainnet” (the public blockchain for baselining) for customers moving from PoC to productive usage will be one of the key topics for Unibright and also Provide in 2021.
Sub-tasks include the completion of the integration into the Provide tech-stack and — of course — working with many real clients. We will support the on-boarding with sandbox- and demo environments to experience our Baseline-as-a-Service offerings.
To meet the strong demand around all topics concerning DeFi and Tokenization, the shaping of the future of Enterprise DeFi, also in combination with Baseline, will be driven by Unibright Freequity and defines another main topic for the Unibright Team in 2021.
We have come a long way since our start in 2017, and are happy and proud to see how our verticals with the Unibright Framework, Unibright Freequity and Unibright Solutions grow together as real blockchain adoption has finally started. We are very confident about the future of Unibright and the Universal Blockchain Token UBT — encouraged by everything achieved in 2020 and still seeing much more to come.
