Due to growing demand for VeraWallet registrations, staking and operations (over 106,000 users) we are increasing VeraWallet security by requiring mandatory two factor authentication for all accounts effective immediately.
VeraWallet users who already have two factor authentication enabled won’t notice any difference.
VeraWallet registered users who did not set up two factor authentication will be presented with the screen below to force the two factor authentication up after you next sign in.
New users will have the two factor authentication setup as another step of the account creation process.
Google Authenticator generates two factor Verification codes on your phone.
2-Step Verification provides stronger security for your Google Account by requiring a second step of verification when you sign in. In addition to your password, you’ll also need a code generated by the Google Authenticator app on your phone. This is how to sign in with two factor authentication.
When setting up your two factor authentication it is ESSENTIAL that you keep a copy of your 16 digit secret code safe. If your device gets lost, stolen or erased you will need this secret code to link your VeraWallet account to a new authenticator.
Without this code you are at risk of being permanently locked out of your account and losing all your funds.
