Welook (https://welook.io/) was originally conceived as a startup built on top of the POAP protocol. However, the team of founders eventually pivoted to focus on creating the best social application for web3. This new direction allowed Welook to differentiate itself and pursue a unique opportunity in the social market and the blockchain ecosystem.
How is Welook.io different from other web3 social apps?
- No-installation required
Welook is an application accessible from any web browser (Chrome, Brave, Safari, etc) and with no need for installation. We chose to support any smartphone on the planet and that’s why we built a web app. On top of that to make it even more accesible you can download the landing page as a mobile App onto your mobile operating system, it’s a direct link to be honest.
- Intuitive POAP creation and delivery
Users can create POAP for any use cases they want, easily with only a few clicks. Welook will relay the request to the POAP protocol and get back to you with the confirmation and the mint links in only a few minutes.
Then users can choose the dynamic QR code dispenser method to let other people scan and mint your fresh out-of-the-oven (or out-of-the-protocol) on-chain proof.
- Web2 compatibility with Social Login
You don’t need to be Vitalik Buterin, Ethereum founder, to understand and use Welook.io . Welook makes the sign-up process to get a web3 account with a social login extremely simple. Users can choose to create a Welook profile with an email or a google account, that will later link to a new web3 non-custodial wallet.
We believe that building a social platform powered by blockchain technology will bring an authentic and stronger ownership, identity and a better social interaction in and out of the digital realm. However, we recognize that blockchain tech can still be cumbersome for some people.

Welook Profile
Click on Profile in welook.io and you’ll see who are you following and who are following you.
Choose to upload an NFT image or picture from your computer as your main avatar. Write down a brief Bio of who you are. You can also add a link to a website (perfect for businesses social accounts), twitter handle, telegram account and soon we’ll be releasing many more optional contact info.
POAPs
This section works as a proof of your web3 interaction and history. POAPs work as a proof on the blockchain of your participation. You can get new POAPs for your user by participating from events, hackathons, social gatherings and even by watching the world cup.
To organize these personal badges you can use Welook’s collections to create groups and titles for them. You can group them by month, by rarity, by celebrities, creativity is on your side.
Names
A web3 social platform must abide by the principals of web3: Ownership, censorship-resistance and privacy. Users have the power to decide their own name on this platform. Welook doesn’t ask for first name or family name. By connecting your wallet to your account, the wallet public address will act as your anonymity name.
To set your own name Welook has partnered with Ethereum Name Services (https://ens.domains) and Lens Protocol (https://lens.xyz) to allow you to connect your web3 domain as your main social profile name.

NFT
NFT stands for a non-fungible token (What is a NFT?). It is a unique, digital asset that exists on the blockchain. NFTs are tokens that we can use to represent ownership of unique items.
In the NFT section of your social profile you can show which collection you’ve taken part of, the digital art projects and artist you support, or you could show which P2E games you’ve been playing.
There are also NFTs that are used as condition to token-gate access or whitelist benefits using bnfts protocol. Recently Welook launched the Wecard, the first web3 social card, where an NFT gives access to edit its information.
Tickets
Your web3 wallet connected to Welook is your access point to dozens of events around the world like LABITCOINF or ETHDenver.
Before validating this ticket at the accreditation point, this digital asset serves as a proof of purchase or intention to attend the event. After the event has finished it will show as proof of attendance and a cool souvenir.
Imaging how it felt to have that Red Hot Chili Peppers 2005 concert ticket before the ink disappeared? That would never happen as these web3 tickets will live in the blockchain forever.
How to start with Welook.io?
1- Connect your wallet or sign-in with your Email or Google Account.
You can choose to connect with your ethereum compatible wallet to prompt your already public information. Or if you’re new to web3 and crypto you can choose to sign in with your email.
When you’re choosing the email or Google, you’ll get a one-single-use code to login and it will automatically create a new web3 wallet for you.
2- Edit to customize the way you look.
You can upload an image that represents you in web3. It can be any picture or even NFT art. You can add a text as Bio to introduce yourself to others who are checking out your profile.
You can add a Twitter handle, Telegram account, and a website URL to let others write to you where you wish to be contacted.
3- Group your POAP to look and feel like you
Organize all of your personal badges to create custom collections. Go to POAP section, click in “+ Create”, then define a title and select which POAPs they’re going to be added to that group.
4- Share Profile everywhere
Once you have created, customized and set your Welook profile you can click on the share button and copy the link to paste anywhere you like. You’ll notice that the link will render a smooth social profile card with your avatar, name, POAPs and collectibles.
You can also choose to share a specific POAP, so when you paste the link it will render the POAP art, the amount of people owning the same collectible, how many moments have been attached and it shows that you own it too.
Search POAPs, Wallets, ENS, Lens and web3 profiles with Welook Explore
You can search for any public address or wallet to look how does it look their Welook web3 social profile. Just type the ENS domain or the Lens handle, or paste the entire public address. Welook explorer will show which digital assets are public to that profile. You can also type a title to see if there are POAPs with that keyword.
Live Moments
This feature allows you to check out which events are currently happening if you’re a holder of the event’s POAP. In that case it will allow you to upload pictures that will be linked to that event’s badge.
POAP moments let any event participant look back at an event and check out the most iconic moments uploaded by the participants.
Mint a POAP to your profile
Sometimes the token of proof of participation at an event (digital or IRL) is not sent via a drop or scanning a dynamic QR code. Instead the POAP issuer may select to have a secret word or a code to give to a handful of people.
Click the “Mint” button to use this distribution methods and enter the information to allow the POAP to be sent to your connected profile.

If you want to start creating your web3 network, you are able to follow other profiles. You can also check out who follows the users you’re following or who are they followers.

Create a new POAP
In this section of Welook you’ll find and create your own POAPs.
How to add a new POAP
A- In the section POAP, select one of the suggested templates.
You can choose between the classic “You’ve met me” using the available frames and share it with people you meet in real life. You can also choose to issue a personal POAP to say thank you, for a meeting, a trip, graduation, your friends’ birthday, endorsement and any other occasion you believe is worth documenting on the blockchain ad-eternum (fancy way of saying “forever”).
B- You could also Import an existing POAP and link it to your profile.
This is useful if another person has already issued a POAP and wants to give you admin rights as an issuer to drop it to other profiles. Just insert the event id number and the edit code and you’re all set.
C- You can also create custom professionally designed POAPs, contacting Welook Agency. Because sometimes you want an extraordinary POAP design, with cool motion, 3D effect and more. Welook agency has a team of professional designers that can give you that extra wow factor for your POAP.
WeCard access
WeCard is a personal card that allows you to access token-gated real-life experiences. It’s also a POAP dispenser, it can share contact details and validate NFTs as your web3 passport.
If you own a WeCard bnft in your wallet you’ll be able to change the configuration, choose what contact detail to show and which POAP you want to dispense with a single tap on the card. You can also pause it and later reactive it.
Active or Pending POAPs
This section of your profile contains the POAPS that you can share and distribute when active. You will find the information regarding how many remain and when the expire. If you click on them you have access to their QRcode and you can also request more mint links.
History POAP
Here you will find the history of your archived, expired or rejected POAPS.
Download an app-like quick access to your smartphone
Add Welook to your phone’s home screen. You’ll need to visit the Welook.io site and next to the URL field you can find the “share icon”, press it and select the option “add to home screen”.
Now you will be able to access your logged in account at Welook shortcutting the whole opening a browser step.
