I drive up from the city;
Passing memories.
Haunting like I still care.
But I’ve forgotten who I was before.
I just keep on driving;
You stared out into the sky
As the day slipped silently away.
Every one ends the same as it begins.
With change and hope, and moods so high.
Go to the edge.
You’ll be glad you did.
I lay here. The mellowed sun seeping through the trees.
It halos them; ever giants. Brings me to my knees.
I’m safe here. It’s peaceful. So why am I afraid?
Like ice cream. So fleeting. It’s sweet but starts to fade.
You don’t realise how healthy you are;
Until you get sick.
You don’t realise how precious time is;
Until it goes quick.
You don’t realise how much you enjoy cooking;
Take shelter.
I’ll be your home tonight.
Don’t panic.
I’ll help you make it right.
Those echoes.
Those voices from your past.
The view from the top is breathtaking.
I stamp my foot and corkscrew my flag into the ground.
I’ve earned my place here.
I’ve walked and walked, walked through the blisters on my feet.
