You pass out, half-squished in the demon’s enormous hand.

When you awake, you are lying on a rocky cave floor, and in a lot of pain. Sitting up, you look around.

A stranger is there; a bearded man. There’s no sign of Angelika or any of the villagers. A torch gutters, high on the wall above an exit tunnel, but it’s barred by a metal gate.

You struggle to your feet.

“Awake at last,” says the man in a rough voice; he sounds parched.

“And you are…?”

He taps your chest. “I’m Henk MacDuff, and you’re wearing some of my equipment.”

You touch your armor. “Oh! So you’re Angelika’s father. We’re here to rescue you, but, uh…”

Henk puts one hand on your shoulder, and smiles sadly. “Thank you. But nobody can stand against Impachik.”
