A few months ago, I started this publication as an experimental outpost for stories, people and exploits with a common thread, if not purpose.

Influenced by or a product of the tech industry and, in most cases, their time working at Google, the people and startups featured to date have similar work experience. If recruiting legend be true, they may also share personality traits. Since then however, professional molds have been broken, people propelled into a range of new roles, some more traditional than others.

The Xoogler celebrates these broken brackets. From sales to media production, worker to reworked, maps to property insurance, tech treadmill to social compassion project or just plain saving the world with your data skills, these individuals are doing something different. I’ll let you be the judge of their commonalities.

Beyond that, these stories ask if personal potential can be defined by a role, generation or company? They explore if intersections add value? They even ask if a blog about intersections can be useful or if I’ll need a map too?!

Recalibrate your expectations and hopefully we’ll all find answers to these questions in 2018 as the tally of boundless bracketeers continues to grow. To Googlers, Xooglers and beyond…let’s see what you have to say.

Until then, wishing you a happy new year ahead!
Ruth
