Online Reverse Auction

As part of our goal to provide a transparent token sale process, Zero Carbon Project has deployed their second software demonstration site — an online reverse auction for business energy consumers.

What is a reverse auction?

It’s where we get suppliers to bid for your energy contract: this results in getting the best price and variety for you as multiple suppliers bid for your project. Once the bidding is complete you choose the supplier you want to do business with based on your criteria, be it price, terms or carbon footprint.

Have a look at a reverse auction in practice

Our Zero Carbon Market’s reverse auction allows business energy consumers to see contracts for renewable energy (solar, wind, biofuels and others); nuclear energy; and ‘carbon neutral’ energy which involves supplies sourced from fossil fuel but with carbon emissions offset by the purchase of international carbon credits.

Example of the Online Reverse Auction

This online reverse auction market for business energy consumers complements the consumer-facing energy switching service we demonstrated earlier this year.

The Zero Carbon Project ICO is Official.

ZCP to be Listed on the GBX

The ICO Examiner has picked up on our upcoming ICO explaining that ZCP will be listing the sale of its Energis token on the GBX GRID, the token sale platform of the Gibraltar Blockchain Exchange (GBX). This means that post-ICO, Energis should be available for trading on the GBX Digital Asset Exchange. The full details of our upcoming ICO can be found on the Medium article.

This is the Bit Where We Purchase International Carbon Credits

As part of Zero Carbon Project ongoing carbon offset programme, we purchased 30 international carbon credits from a project in China, featuring switching a bus fleet to the world’s largest fleet of hybrid and electric buses. We transacted the purchase on the website platform, called Climate Neutral Now which is an initiative launched by the UN Climate Change in 2015.

This transaction offsets 30 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions, equivalent to emissions from 10 typical households over a year. This demonstrates the effectiveness of international carbon credits that will be used by the Zero Carbon Project to ensure the supply of both cheap and carbon neutral energy.
