What’s this partnership all about?
It’s a seamless integration between hardware and software. Leveraging Efudd’s firmware (FuddWare) that unlocks new overclocking thresholds and Luxor’s high-quality stratum Zcash, Horizen, Komodo and Pirate pools we are able to maximize mining efficiency and reduce overall mining fees.
Subsequent batches of Bitmain’s Equihash ASICs overclock capabilities were limited by the manufacturer. We already know that these ASICs can easily get a nice performance boost of 20% or maybe even a bit more.
Previously, Efudd charged a 3.4% dev-fee and combined with an average pool fee of 1 to 3 percent you could be easily be paying up to 6% in fees. Beginning with version 2.3, users of Fuddware on Z Series miners can enjoy 0% dev-fees when mining on Luxor pools including ZCash, Horizen, and Pirate! Instead of paying high pool fees plus dev fees, you can enjoy no dev-fee and minimal pool fees of just 2% PPS.
NOTE: If your miner has signature checking enabled from the factory, you must perform the initial install using the SD card method.
How to install the firmware?
- Download the firmware. Do not uncompress it, leave it as is. Depending on the unit you own, pick one of the following download links: Bitmain Z11, Bitmain Z9 or Bitmain Z9 Mini.
- In your miner dashboard, navigate to the following route: System > Upgrade > Flash new Firmware Image.
- Click on Choose File and select the file you downloaded in the first step.
- Select Flash Image. You can use or disable keep settings at your own preference.
- You will see the image upload and apply, and then the notification to wait 90 seconds.

While auto-frequency tuning is convenient, the default implementation will underclock hash boards. Additionally, there are certain conditions where the auto-tuning algorithm will keep decreasing the frequency until they are at their lowest possible setting.
