1. Decktopus

AI slideshow tool

Decktopus AI presentation maker

One of my favorite tools for studying is called Decktopus.

It’s an AI presentation generator that creates a presentation from start to finish from scratch.

This is a tremendous time-saver for students because almost everyone has to create a presentation at some point.

To use Decktopus, just follow these simple steps:

  1. Open up Decktopus.
  2. Tell it what presentation you want to create.
  3. Wait for a few seconds.
  4. Enjoy your presentation.

For example, here I’m telling the AI to create a presentation about the history of programming.

After 30 seconds or so, here’s the presentation:

Looks pretty impressive, huh? Remember that this is from complete scratch with no input from me (except for that 3-word description I gave it.)

Of course, you should make edits and check facts on top of that.

This gives me a nice headstart compared to the students who start from a complete scratch. Instead of having to pick a template, arrange images, and place text, Decktopus does all of that for you.

To learn more about Decktopus, watch my review/guide on it:

Just be careful with AI writing. There are some silly mistakes and repetitions that you should avoid.

2. Grammarly

An AI proof-reading tool

Grammarly AI writing tool

Grammarly uses AI to analyze and fix your text.

If you use it as a Google Chrome extension, it works on every website you visit.

You can install it here.

For example, here Grammarly is fixing my home assignment essay:

And here it’s helping me write my email to my mentor:

It automatically fixes your typos, punctuation errors, and grammar mistakes—with a simple click of a button.

This leaves time for you to focus on things that matter in your writing.

Also, if the tool annoys you, just deactivate it for your visiting page.

Lastly, there’s a custom word library for Grammarly. If you’re using a word that Grammarly mistakenly treats as an error, you can whitelist it here:

This reduces the AI annoyance with words that you intentionally use.

3. HeyGen AI

AI cloning tool

HeyGen AI cloning tool

HeyGen uses AI to clone yourself online.

Yes, you heard it right. You can make yourself say anything in any language with this tool.

Don’t believe it? Watch this video I made about the product:

Anyways, a tool like HeyGen is useful when doing online presentations for your research for example.

To use this tool, film a short clip of yourself (talking in any language.) Don’t forget about the instructions.

Once the clip is ready, just submit it to HeyGen. Then it will take about 30–90 minutes for the AI to clone yourself.

After the AI clone is ready, it’s time to start messing with it.

You can create and edit presentations in the HeyGen AI editor. You can add slides or just do a good old talking head-style video.

This can be useful for student projects, events, online presentations, and more.

Also, even if you’re not using it as a student, it can be a funny experience.

I sent a clip to my family and they were blown away by the Spanish skills I had gotten overnight… Until they realized it was AI. Then they got even more blown away! :D

4. Canva

AI design and presentations tool

Canva AI design tool

Canva is an awesome tool for creating visuals and presentations.

The best part is that this tool has all sorts of cool timesaver AI features.

For example, here’s a poster cover image I’m creating for a presentation:

But this looks bad because the image has a gray background.

Well, that’s not an issue. I can just use the AI background remover tool:

After 2 seconds (literally) the background is gone:

Much better.

Also, I can tell the AI to change the color of my suit.

After 3 seconds, here’s the result:

Pretty impressive, huh?

You can use these features to create artwork such as presentations, banners, logos, or anything else that visually relates to your studies.

Of course, these are just the AI features.

Canva offers other non-AI features that are worth experimenting with, such as presentation tools, logo generators, and more. So even without the AI features, this is the tool you should try!

5. Wolfram Alpha

AI math solver

Wolfram Alpha math solver tool

Wolfram Alpha is one of the older AI-powered studying tools out there. I’ve used it for at least 5 years as a math/physics student.

I’ve used Wolfram for my studies to calculate numerical values for equations, such as integrals to save time and automate boring tasks.

For example, here I’m using it to find the roots of a curve:

That’s handy, huh?

Don’t get me wrong here! It’s not a replacement or cheat.

In my studies, the important part is to find the right formula or equation to describe a problem or a specific setting. Once that is figured out, the calculation of a specific value is redundant work (that we all know how to do) that the AI can do in seconds.

Notice that Wolfram Alpha is not just a maths tool. These days it does more, such as physics, chemistry, and general knowledge.

For example, here it’s calculating the physics of a pendulum for me:

It’s clearly moving in the direction where you can ask anything and it will find an answer.

6. Photomath

AI math solver from images

PhotoMath AI math solver from images

PhotoMath solves math equations from a photo—as the name suggests.

Just type the equation on a paper, take an image of it, and let the AI do the work.

For example, here I’m using the mobile app to solve a homework:

The AI adds a box around the equation. Move it if it’s not focusing on the right part of the paper. Then just take a picture and it will solve the equation.

For example, here’s the solution for the above equation:

As you can see, it’s not just a solution but also a step-by-step breakdown of what’s happening.

All this in just 5 seconds with the AI app!

Also, with the pro features, you get to see a visual step-by-step breakdown.

By the way, it can do a lot more than just those basic high school maths problems.

For example, here I’m asking it to calculate an integral:

And this app absolutely nails it too:

Isn’t that amazing? All this with just a simple mobile app that analyzes images.

Just use it wisely and remember to learn the concepts behind it. Don’t cheat! ;)

7. Duolingo

AI language teacher

Duolingo AI language tool

Duolingo is my favorite AI-powered language-studying tool (and a language-learning tool in general.)

I’ve used it to learn Spanish and Portuguese.

It teaches languages in a unique and gamified way. Instead of focusing on theory, it’s all based on repetition and focusing on the most important parts of a language.

For example, it teaches you how to greet and how to speak in restaurants.

Also, it takes you to more advanced stuff too. But it makes sure you nail the basics first.

The way this product works is that you have those funky characters say something in a foreign language. Then it’s your task to arrange the shuffled words to match what the character is saying.

Then once you’re ready, it rewards you and shows you a cool little animation.

Also, it tests your pronunciation (optional) by asking you to say something out loud.

Me speaking Spanish with Duolingo

Duolingo is quite addictive, to be honest.

It has those daily goals, rewards, skill points, and lists of the best learners that draw you in.

Especially if you’re already studying languages, this kind of app can complement your studies quite well.

I’d give it a try! At least I could learn Spanish and Portuguese basics decently from it.

8. The Multiverse AI

AI profile picture maker

The Multiverse AI image creator tool

One of the coolest AI products I’ve discovered this year is The Multiverse AI.

It’s an AI headshot generator for polishing your LinkedIn, CV, and other social profiles.

It turns your pictures into professional high-quality images.

For example, look what it did to me:

The first image is me in the office. The second one is an AI-generated clone of myself.

It’s so good that I could use it as my profile picture on social media.

In fact, I’m using one of the images in my LinkedIn profile:

This is a useful tool for a student. You can use the AI-generated images in CVs and your social feeds.

To create similar AI images of yourself, you need to upload 12–20 random images of yourself to The Multiverse AI server.

Just remember these rules:

Then drag and drop your images:

And upload.

Once 60–120 minutes have passed, you get to enjoy your AI-generated headshots.

You can also customize your photos with the AI. Just describe the tool what kind of an image you want to create of yourself and it’ll get the job done.

For example, here I’m asking the AI to create an image of myself wearing a red shirt:

Isn’t that incredible?

Looks exactly like I do… Yet these are completely AI-generated and arbitrary images that never took place.

Give it a shot! You get 10% off with my code “ARTTURI.”

9. ChatGPT

ChatGPT AI chatbot

Let’s jump into a tool you probably expected to see here.

That is, of course, the good old ChatGPT—every student’s best friend.

ChatGPT is an AI-powered chatbot that you can ask anything. It knows about science, technology, coding, and anything else.

For example, here I’m asking it to create an essay:

Here I’ve asked it to generate normally distributed data and a plot:

This is a versatile and well-rounded bot that can do most of the basic tasks you can imagine.

This is a big time saver (and productivity boost) for a student.

You can use it to create essay outlines, do research, create images, analyze files, write code, and so much more.

The non-text features (image generation, file analysis, etc.) are behind a paywall, though.

Also, ChatGPT comes with a tradeoff: Inaccuracies and hallucinations.

The tool can claim to know something while it doesn’t. It’s just an AI model that predicts words after the other.

It’s a great assistant but not a replacement. Be careful! :)

Try ChatGPT

10. Ideogram AI

A free AI image generator

Ideogram AI image maker

Ideogram AI is a free AI image generator. It creates unique and original images out of thin air in just seconds.

Just tell the AI what you want to see and it’ll get the job done.

For example, here I’ve asked it to generate an image of a university in Finland:

Even though it doesn’t quite resemble any specific university here, it’s pretty close. It looks like Finland with a Finnish student walking away from the campus.

I love this product because it’s free.

It’s a great alternative to ChatGPT if you don’t want to pay for the premium.

Try Ideogram AI

11. Hemingway Editor

An AI sentence fixer

Hemingway App AI proofreader

Another useful product for fixing writing is the Hemingway App.

It’s a free product that grades your writing based on sentence complexity, structure, and whatnot.

This tool flags too complex words, too long sentences, passive voice, etc.

For example, here’s my text that has too much passive voice.

Also, it shows your suggestions.

It also gives you a grade and an overall report of what’s wrong in your text.

Keep in mind that while an AI tool like this is awesome, you shouldn’t blindly follow it.

If you shorten every sentence and fix every word suggestion it gives, it will strip down your style and make it sound robotic.

That’s not what you want either.
