That’s all folks!

Before we Begin, a 🧍👏 Standing Ovation 👏 🧍 to the Product Team, Engineering Team and Release Notes Writers our real 🦸 SUPER HEROES 🦸 behind those great features!

This article is one of many other volumes for the Summer ’23 Release Notes — The Funny-ish Summary. If you want to jump to a specific Topic please use the links at the bottom of this page.

Einstein Search

“Searching is not just about finding answers; it’s about discovering the questions you never knew existed.”

  • In the Search Manager, you can now set which Standard and/or Custom Objects are searchable or not searchable for each user profile. In the previous release it was done at fields level. BETA
  • In the Search Manager, You can now select a picklist field to be searchable. BETA
  • I am Groot, I am Groot. I am Groot! GA
  • This feature was introduced several releases ago and still in PILOT. Einstein Search Answers. Remember, this feature enable your agents so they can now type a question in the Einstein Search Textbox and Salesforce will extract the most relevant information from a knowledge article. The returned answers are just three lines and two buttons: One to Copy the Answer and a second one to Copy the Article Link.

Enablement

“Enablement is not just about equipping people with the right tools; it’s about empowering them with the confidence to use them.”

  • New Predefined Measures: Average Deal Size, Total Amount in Pipeline and if you are lucky enough to have ECI (Einstein Conversation Insights): Number of Calls with Next Steps.
  • Set Average-Based Goals: Before you could only measure achievements in absolutes (Count or Sum calculation methods).
  • Give access to all Objects and Fields to your Enablement Admins so they can build measures on them. This access does not bypass Object/Field/Record level security in other areas of Salesforce.
  • When you assign Programs to 11 users or more at a time the assignment is done Asynchronously and you receive an email upon completion.
  • Invocable methods — because even code needs to be called by its proper name! Use a new Invocable Action (in Flow, Apex or Rest API) to automate programs assignations to users.
  • Test Enablement in All sandboxes. Previously it was possible only in Full Sandboxes.
  • A picture is worth a thousand words! Handle images used in Lessons using CMS and reference them elsewhere. Previously inserting and publishing images was only possible when editing and publishing a Rich Text content type.
  • Guidance Center can now be shown side by side with your lightning page. Previously only overlapping was possible. Just Pin/Unpin the panel and see by yourself.
  • Because even Salesforce knows that nobody likes a generic message! Targeted prompts can now point on fields on record pages, dynamic forms and create record panels.
  • And more enhancement that can be found here.

Reports & Dashboards

“Reports and Dashboards are the eyes that allow you to see into the soul of your business.”

  • The Analytics Home is now GA.
  • Post Lightning Dashboard to Slack, how? Just click the Post to Slack icon, select a Workspace and a Channel, optionally add a message.
  • Plain text is just too mainstream! Richt Text Dashboard Widgeeeeeeet!
  • Dashboards now support up to 25 widgets (fka Components). The previous limit was 20 in total.
  • Making sure your data doesn’t go on a wild, unfiltered adventure Salesforce now gives you more Dashboard Filters. 5 filters instead of 3. (was BETA in last release)
