And that ladies & gentlemen…is what you avoid when you have CRM Analytics

Before we Begin, a 🧍👏 Standing Ovation 👏 🧍 to the Product Team, Engineering Team and Release Notes Writers our real 🦸 SUPER HEROES 🦸 behind those great features!

This article is one of many other volumes for the Summer ’23 Release Notes — The Funny-ish Summary. If you want to jump to a specific Topic please use the links at the bottom of this page.

CRM Analytics

“Analytics is the language of business in the age of data, translating numbers into insights, and insights into actions that drive success.”

Visualization & Dashboard Building

  • Enter the luxurious penthouse of your analytics. Analytics Home is now GA.
  • Gone are the days of cloning components for every little change! You can now create parameters for your Component Widgets and make them dynamic.
  • Stop the SQL, SOQL, or JSON acrobatics just to rename a column. In the Lens field menu, you can now rename easily your columns. Check it out.
  • Totals and subtotals for Snowflake & Data cloud direct data sources.
  • Single-click magic! Now you can create a Return to initial view button that will reset your dashboard filters. This action can be added to an image, number or container widget.
  • Ready, set, flow! Imagine a world where you can click on a text widget, pass parameters to a Salesforce Flow, and run this flow from within CRM Analytics without leaving the user context! If this feature existed, I would just call it “The magic portal to productivity”. BETA
  • Insight Symphony Recipe: BETA
1 — Preheat your data analysis oven with Direct Data for Data Cloud.
2 — Take the fragments of data model objects (DMOs) and bring them together using four types of joins.
3 — Mix gently until a comprehensive picture emerges.
4 — Next, filter the joined data to remove any unwanted ingredients.
5 — Sprinkle a touch of conditional formatting.
6 — Enjoy the delightful outcome, a comprehensive picture that will leave you savoring every insight bite!
  • CRM Analytics genie now recognizes the Data Cloud Identifier field as a dimension: FQK aka Fully Qualified Keys.
  • Sayōnara iFrames, Yōkoso LWC! Embedded Analytics dashboards are now rendered with native Lightning web components (LWC) instead of iframes. BUT, if you really 💕 your iframes you can still use them by checking Use legacy iframe instead of LWC for embedded dashboards under Setup → Analytics → Settings.
  • Because 1.0 is not enough, welcome Dashboard Inspector 2.0: No further questions, your honor.
  • Caching now updates only the dashboard elements that have changed instead of a full refresh with every user interaction, saving you time and sanity. BUT, if you are an insane person or just want to lose time you can still check the Disable dashboard bundle caching under Setup → Analytics → Settings.
  • Twiddling your thumbs while waiting for your dashboard to catch up? Now, when you make a selection or apply a filter, you’re free to explore your dashboard as only the widgets that are busy updating are paused.
  • Still talking about speed! Accelerated Queries for CRM Analytics runs queries on Data Cloud records faster.
  • Brace yourselves because you can now gain insights on Tableau Cloud and Tableau Server data without even leaving the comfort of your CRM Analytics Home sweet home. BETA

Analytics Development

Einstein Discovery

  • Time to incorporate your own business rules, objectives, and constraints into Einstein Discovery recommendations and ensure those suggestions are not just relevant, but also feasible and aligned with the big picture. For example, create a model to increate CSAT but set a limit to the number of appointments. BETA
  • Distribute your predictive models with ease using packaging. Previously, packages supported only the model and the prediction definition. GA
