Use AI. But don’t be overly dependent on it. They can never be as intelligent and creative as you!

Since the launch of ChatGPT, I am pretty sure most of you have at least tried this app once. I have been using it for my automated blog to see what good it can do. I’ll update it soon.

I won’t advise using ChatGPT or any other form of AI completely. But you can use it to improve your writing or come up with new content.

Some ways you can use AI to become a better writer —

  1. Grammar checking… in case you don’t have Grammarly or QuillBot
  2. Content ideas — everyone needs this for sure. We cannot come up with new content ideas every single day.
  3. Research and brainstorming
  4. Getting feedback — I have had bad experiences with this one

Is it OK to use ChatGPT as a writer?

To improve your writing skills and brainstorming? Then definitely yes!

Using it to write a whole ebook and sell it on Amazon KDP? Then no. Your KDP account will be at risk.

DO NOT use AI-generated ebooks to sell on Amazon KDP!

Here I am sharing some of the prompts that you can use to improve your writing —

Not to worry. This is for complete newbies!

Spelling Correction:

Please review the following text for spelling errors and provide accurate corrections. Ensure that all words are spelled correctly, and make necessary adjustments to enhance the overall spelling accuracy of the text. [Input Your Text]

Punctuation Checking:

Analyze the following text specifically for punctuation errors. Identify and correct any misuse or absence of punctuation marks to improve the overall punctuation accuracy and clarity of the text. [Input Your Text]

Editing

“Edit and refine this [type of writing, e.g., article, document, essay] to ensure it meets high-quality standards. Provide detailed feedback on grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, formatting, consistency, clarity, readability, and overall coherence. Additionally, assess the use of active voice, appropriate word choice, and proper citation and referencing. Aim to enhance the audience perspective, conciseness, and effectiveness of the content. Your suggestions should result in a polished and well-crafted piece that effectively communicates its intended message.”

Feedback

Review and provide feedback on the effectiveness of the book’s opening chapter in capturing readers’ attention.

Write compelling social media captions:

Prompt: “Create an Instagram caption for a photo of a new eco-friendly water bottle.”

Write search engine optimized (SEO) content:

Prompt: “Write an SEO-friendly introduction paragraph for a guide on choosing the best smartphone.”

Develop creative storytelling for brand promotion:

Prompt: “Write a short brand story showcasing the journey of a small coffee shop from humble beginnings to success.”

My Automated Blog Update June 2023

Conclusion

I have given only simple prompts. As you go deeper, the prompts get more complex. This is the reason why prompt engineers charge hundreds of dollars for their services.

I use ChatGPT mainly to come up with content ideas for my automated blogs because of a lack of time. Also for my YouTube channel. I also use it for Pinterest titles, but this was really the worst one. For my Pinterest, I am going back to the traditional method.

For Amazon KDP ebooks, I still go for traditional methods. I write my own work. I see some people selling AI-generated ebooks on Amazon KDP and making thousands of dollars. Good for them. But I would like to keep my KDP account safe. And above that, I am the happiest when I create new work!

You can use AI if you want to. Or you can still go for the traditional route. Remember making money in the long term requires most work from your side.

Happy writing!
