The alarm clock on by side table rang, my eyes opened wide and I was breathing very heavily. Yes, I woke up from the horrific bullying that I was reliving in my dream. I knew in a few moments the door of my bedroom would open and my mom would come with my school uniform and to say good morning to me. So, I quickly calmed myself down. I wanted to keep all this pain from my mother. I wanted to hide under a fake smile. Cause, I knew if my peers at school would make even more fun of me and label me ‘a mummy-daddy bacha’(a mama’s boy).

I got up from bed and headed to bathroom to freshen up. When I got out my mom was already there, placing my uniform on the bed. We exchanged our morning greetings just like any other day. And then went to the table for breakfast. As I was about to end breakfast, I was struck by a reminder of what awaited me on the school bus and in the school. The bullying. I quickly shook it aside before my mom could notice. The bus driver honked the horn to let me know he has arrived to pick me up for school. I picked my bag and walked toward the door to get in the van. I hastily closed the door and slowly walked to the bus.

As the bus drove, I kept growing anxious. Thinking about bullies that would soon be on the bus with me. My heart thumping in my chest. Just as I was engulfed in all this. I heard my name in the background. “Oye! Noman…”. Obviously, I got startled. “Hahaha darr gaya”. Three of them moved toward my seat on the bus and sat beside me. Still trembling with my fear and closing my eyes to escape all of it. A few moments later, I could feel the feet of Jawwad crushing mine. And tears started rolling down my face.…
