About Me — Brittany LeMoine
Introductions are hard and I’m just going to be honest, I’ve never been very good at making them. Raise your hand if you also dread the moment your turn comes every time there’s a “go around the room and state your fun facts” situation. 🙋🙋🙋
Yeah… There’s a reason my preferred method of communication is writing.
Yet here I am, introducing myself as a writer to the Medium community. First, let me delve a bit into my life.
-Childhood-
As a kid, I was always highly imaginative. I loved to live in my pretend play scenarios, which later developed into the stories I enjoy writing today. I was curious, as I continue to be.
Fun Facts from my childhood include:
- starting up my Sims gaming hobby at five years old and never stopping from there.
- being homeschooled from the 5th grade through to the end of high school graduation.
- making frequent trips to Disney World with my family, going once a year at one point.
-Education-
Since I was homeschooled in high school, I was able to begin taking college courses before graduation. These were the basics at Lone Star College. Once officially a college student, I locked into a track for my Associates which would start me off on a good foot for an Advertising major for my degree.
I graduated Lone Star College in May 2016 and moved to the University of Houston immediately after to pursue my Bachelor’s degree. I graduated U of H in May 2018 with a Communications degree with a specialization in Advertising and a minor in Spanish for the Global Professions.
Throughout my time at U of H though, I had someone by my side. We’d met on a study abroad trip with Lone Star College to the UK.
-Love Story-
While attending Lone Star College, we both found ourselves with the opportunity to take a class that would take us to the United Kingdom. Studying abroad in Europe, having intense discussions over the existence of chairs as well as other philosophical questions, and finding love. We both traveled over eight hours in a plane to meet and get to know someone that lived just across the street.
August 14, 2015: A simple night of a movie, Chipotle, and time flying away in a parking lot, this date was only the beginning.

We saw each other almost every single day after that first date. There were frequent trips to a favorite park and there were all the special moments of our lives over the past five years that we’ve been able to be together for.
Just after midnight on January 1st, 2019, Bryan proposed to Brittany.
We shared out love with our friends and family at a Tangled-themed wedding on August 15, 2020.
-Animal Lover-
Mine and Bryan’s family is not complete with just the two of us. We currently have three animal companions, Ratty the Chihuahua, Shadie the black cat, and Brendon the red-eared slider turtle.
I’ve always enjoyed animals. I write about certain encounters with them in my blog, Animal Adventures.
Of course, the animals closest to my heart have been my own pets. In particular, I am a cat person who has grown to love dogs (especially chihuahuas) as well. My beginnings as a dog owner were with Joey, the best dog I’ve ever known. Read about Joey here:
Currently, I have a little four-pound chihuahua named Ratty. You can follow him on Instagram. He’s Ratty Tatty, the chihuahua. I also am the owner of Shadie the Shadow Cat.
-Writer-
One of my absolute favorite things to do is write. I write here on Medium, primarily just for the fun of it. I’ve written blog posts and articles professionally as a marketing copywriter. I’m even an aspiring novelist, with my current work-in-progress focusing on a society where vampires rule and humans are herded like cattle.

This is what I do for a career. I am a professional marketing copywriter with experience working for advertising/marketing agencies. Currently, I’m working as the in-house copywriter for an outdoor furniture company called Ledge.
