I’m probably the messier, slightly melancholic, antithesis of a lot of authors here.
I think my writing gives off more ‘soft underbelly with a middle finger’ kind of attitude. I’ve gotten feedback of writing with 2014 Tumblr sentimentality + Korean femme rage. It’s not what I imagined I would be creating, but here we are.
If you met me in real life, I probably carry myself almost the complete opposite of how I write. I naturally come across strangers that call me “dear”, “sweetheart”, and “honey”. At worse I feel infantilized, at best I get away with a lot of things.
When I came across the About Me page, I felt pretty out of place as I was scrolling through what other authors shared in their articles.
2025 has been a year of loss.
It’s a humbling experience — I got sick of performance and wanted something that felt real. A few months ago, I officially ended my nearly 2.5-year situation-ship. Earlier this year, I had friendship breakups with two best friends. And abruptly parted ways with a toxic job. Had my first near-death scare, and now trying to rebuild most of my life from the ashes.
In the middle of this hellscape, I turned to journaling, as usual. But I needed more than words; I wanted to be witnessed. That’s…
