About Me — Gideon 6ix
A Narrative of Gideon 6ix
The purpose of this article is to inform the general public about me. I will describe some of the quirks, foibles, and traits that form my personality. Yes, I love using synonyms; nearly as much as I love homonyms. I also believe I am allowed to use a comma, as much, as pleases me. I am sure Sir Ernest Gowers would agree with that. I believe my ambitious comma usage makes writing more conversational (which is my intent.) Who doesn’t enjoy having one-way conversations with readers? I like to imagine what their responses may be. Although, I am aware I am usually wrong about that.
I was born in misery- I mean Missouri; my apologies. I was raised, however, in Central Illinois. As a child, I lived in a variety of rural areas with less than humble socioeconomic circumstances (through no fault of my own.) I lived with my mother and half-brother in a series of trailers and towns. We continually sought relief from a landlord’s payment demands. Sometimes my mother would disappear for days and I would take care of my brother. Other times she would be home for days, then I would be the one to disappear. I lived in the woods whenever possible. I could always count on the serenity that the woods provided. I would swim in the creeks and climb the trees. In one particular spot, I would sit on a limb overhanging the creek bed and read for hours.
