Hello is this thing working… Ok cool, this is my first medium post
My name is Tyree Christian, and I am new here on Medium. I start my journey in kinda of a weird spot as I have always felt this burning passion to push past the muck of passivity. Of being silent whenever I have something that I want to say.
I guess if I were to describe myself, I am an introvert. That guy in the back of the room, watching, observing, waiting for folks to question why I am in the room or to completely forget about me.
Even as a writer, I often forget about myself. Beneath the way my fingers type on my keyboard or how my pen scratches my notebook, there is pain and dissociation. Thoughts that make me question who I am, what I’m doing, and why I am doing it in the first place.

This is part of why I have decided to start this journey on Medium. I find myself chasing what I once ran away from.
Yes, the partnership program is nice, and as a broke college student, I can use the money. Yes there is this natural heart posture that wants to be heard, valued, and affirmed. But more than anything, I am trying to empower who I am, my voice, and tap into the untapped potential that seems to hover, just beneath the surface.
This untapped potential is also a feeling that I have that is so tangible, yet too complex to define in one word. And maybe I’ll find the words as I continue to develop as a writer on this platform. But, it’s really driving me to take this step. To write, share, grow, and learn more about myself and others. I believe that the thread that will tie together all of my words shall be in the pursuit of understanding the human condition.
Where I want to start is my own story because I feel like I am learning about so many new things at this new stage in my life. I just turned 20, I am in college and questioning why Im even here. Oh yeah, Im also unpacking all this trauma that I have experienced in my childhood in therapy, and I got baptized and gave my life to Christ last year. And that's just the tip of the iceberg…
A lot of the ways that I will navigate this platform will be informed about the experiences found in my past, and present, and ruminations on my future. So yeah, it will be quite the experience starting this up!!!
