Cat in the Christmas Tree — One of My Stories is Included in This Upcoming Anthology
It won’t be on sale till October but the marketing has already begun
This anthology of cat stories is my second for Revell Books, a division of Baker Publishing Group. A third Revell anthology with another one of my stories will be published next year — Second Chance Horses.
Having some of my work appear in these anthologies reaffirms my faith in the power of networking.
It’s challenging to catch the attention of traditional publishers without an agent. In this case, I met one of Revell’s delightful acquisition editors at the Cat Writers Association (CWA) annual meeting in St. Louis four years ago.
This niche association of writers has been helpful to me in my writing career. Its members include veterinarians who produce articles for serious journals and publications such as Veterinary and Comparative Oncology and Veterinary Business.
But most members are like me — freelancers and pet columnists who dish up stories for mags like Catster, Modern Cat, and other pet-themed publications.
