How I Navigate Office Nonsense
Let me be your captain to keep calm through rough sea
Not everything is rational at the office. Most isn’t. We’ll see the typical irritating situations I encountered (and you probably know too) and I’ll give you my advice from experience to keep calm and let it go (please don’t sing, please!).
What to learn from TV series and sports?
Remember “How I Met Your Mother”? Wouldn’t the show be so much better without the last seasons? It would have been legend-wait for it-…
Remember this athlete trying too much one last year just to be a shadow of his former self?
Stop while you’re good!
Unfortunately at the office, the same problem occurs: you’re good, you’re promoted, you’re good, you’re promoted, until you’re not good enough and stay at the position. Statistically, on a typical company and with enough time, the consequence is under-competency at each level.
This is known at the Peter Principle and you will face it, believe me. You will meet people with just not enough competencies to do their job. And you will hate it. Oh, the persons may be the nicest. But you will get so frustrated.
