I’ve always wondered how the art World worked. How did people produce what I thought was good and bad, fine, and not so fine art, and then sell it for millions of dollars? I especially had an interest in Banksy, the street artist, trickster, and political activist

For many years I would go to Washington Square Park or Union Square Park in New York City where talented artists, many immigrants from Asia, and Eastern Europe, would stand around with their framed work; cubist, realism, impressionist, surrealist, and post-impressionist masterpieces.

Many of these works could be bought for $100 or much less. It made your heart bleed for them. I always wondered why these skilled artists struggled while people who would create crucifixes of Jesus dipped in cow urine, or glue a banana to a gallery wall, would get millions of dollars and end up having their art displayed at some major Museum?
