Why I’m Okay With Making a Dollar a Day on Medium
And it makes a lot of sense!

So I just had another one of my hopefully great ideas. Rather then get all bent out of shape over now earning a measly dollar a day on this platform I decided to make the best of it.
So you’re probably wondering, how the heck am I going to do that? What’s the point of spending all this time writing articles if I’m not making any money?
Ah, and therein lies the answer. Be it temporary or not, there is another value in publishing and being active on this platform.
A while back I started a YouTube channel but soon became disillusioned. I told myself I was too fat, too old, and even possibly boring, until I happened upon some very inspiring videos encouraging me to continue.
Turns out my fears were actually quite common, and that I wasn’t so alone in my hesitation to continue. I learned there’s an audience for old ladies like me who live out in the woods stubbornly independent.
I learned more about keywords which I hadn’t even used, and that posting consistently at least once a week is what it takes to gain momentum.

I also learned YouTube is presently encouraging new creators and has lowered the bar to become monetized. I was so re- juvinated after hearing all this I’ve now become fully invested in making my channel a success.
So what does that have to do with this platform?
Well, I plan to continue publishing my stories on here with a link to each new video. I’ve already received the bulk of my new subscribers from here so why not keep going?
And since I’ve been rather sad about the thought of no longer interacting with all of you, it cheers me up to continue to do so regardless of my crappy earnings.
And hey, this place might even make a comeback one day! Wouldn’t that be something! But in the meantime I’m excited to announce I’ll still be here regardless to support all of you.

After that, and with my new resolve, I’ll take you along with me on scenic trails throughout northern Maine and talk about all kinds of inspiring stuff!
