Our 2019 Goals Progress — OKR progress
Jon (CEO) Outlook:
This month has been one with a lot of opportunity we had to hold back on while the Chrome store issue gets resolved. We were able to announce a permanent solution this week — see it here. With the pace of review process at Google it was frustrating to have many great marketing strategies we had to put a hold on for this month.
The future has some interesting opportunities based on the current direction we are excited to pursue. Firefox and a permanent solution for Chrome are on tap for July and we will again be able to let the team run free.
Key Areas of Business Activity Quick Update:
Tech
- The entire tech team has done a great job responding to the seeming moving target from Google. We are now 99% confident that we have our permanent solution for both Chrome and Firefox.
- Firefox development started earlier and moved along faster than originally anticipated and we are excited about opening up another front.
Team
The team is locked and loaded and there are no near future plans for any changes. You can see everyone on the team on the website at adbank.network and you can read about the final re-org in this blog post.
Financial / Runway
Slightly ahead of plan, meaning runway model still projects well into 2021. The increase in value in crypto offset the revenue being behind plan.
Marketing
As Jon stated above, with the issues with the Chrome store, the team made the decision to put a hold on any large marketing pushes until there was a permanent home for BLADE in the Chrome store. The team did continue to do “maintenance” promotion, making sure that adbank and BLADE are still getting press and attention during this time.

In June, we had one new advertiser running campaigns on BLADE — a slower fourth month which was to be expected with the removal from the Chrome store. We’re always working to find a good fit between advertisers and audience to ensure optimal benefit for everyone — which translates into higher CPM’s and higher rewards!
The sales pipeline is still full with a lot of interest since announcing Firefox as the next browser to receive a BLADE extension! There are 20 new companies interested in running campaigns on BLADE.
In case you missed it, we published an intro to a featured BLADE advertiser, which you can read here.
Progress Against Core Objectives Update:
1. Objective — BLADE adoption — adbank ad block extension that allows only adbank powered ads through, while rewarding you for viewing those ads!
1a. Key Result — #1 ad block/reward extension used by the crypto community. Attracting many users and a dominant presence within the crypto community especially!
June Update — June was a mostly a lost month with user acquisition due to our chrome store issues. We are excited to put that behind us and moving aggressively again.
2. Objective — Pilots, Pilots, Pilots — Our pipeline has never been more full and we are bringing on additional team members to help handle!
2a. Key Result — Consistent monthly pilots similar to the Austria & Red Bull pilot, growing to several per month
June Update — Similar to the last update there continues to be a shift away from pilots for the sake of blockchain and our team focus has been on BLADE in June.
3. Objective — Utility driven by operating AdNetworks (Signed agreement to bring some of the largest crypto publishers inventory available on IntergalacticAds.com)
3a. Key Result — IntergalacticAds.com and other vertical ad networks #1 or #2 by market share in their verticals.
June Update — ECig has continued to perform well on display with a little interest finally coming back for IntergalacticAds with advertisers who want to spend more than we can deliver with current BLADE inventory. This is a good sign for the growth of BLADE over the coming couple of months.
