Cue the Chalkboard Collective Genius!
This collective genius conspires
a daunting challenge leaving me swamped,
in search of collaborative inspiration,
a route through poet’s past prompts.
Whispers spoken, rarely heard
faint breaths tickle eager ears,
until they harbor secrets never slurred,
careless echos squander silk dreams.
Nightmare’s flakes spill from fattened clouds.
as April cringes at the falling snow,
muffled daffodils covering up
a squirrel’s stash forgotten long ago.
Nature’s need, hungry for a miracle
that flows from creation’s fancy,
words unspoken, melodious and lyrical,
far flung into corrupted cultures.
Under the fire breathing sky
heaven’s rage takes its plunder,
from lightning’s crisp inferno
comes peals of stolen thunder.
At any given moment
the roots of melancholy
erupt into mindless foment,
and a river of tears blur justice.
Naked courage the only answer
for silence that’s worth the risk,
Invisible emotions emerge exposed,
my superpower strong and brisk.
These enduring cues eternally haunt
this wordsmith’s heartfelt spin,
as the journey must come to a close
all good things finally reach their end.
