From songs of the season to dreams of the moment
From children’s laughter to adoration’s danger, brilliance

I have watched our community grow into its promise
Growing our skills, fighting battles together

From magician to princess to moments uncounted
We found inspiration, love, ambiguity, laughter

We are no clique. We welcome all who follow the prompts
United by our hearts, we go where words lead

Honoring the form and the intention
Finding comfort and joy in the essence of words

Moving from risky perspectives to peaceful reads
The core of our words come to life through our fingers

Moving from vague intentions and risky perspectives
To peaceful reads that engage, enthral, explain

Spinning short pieces with silence
To poems that resist the wrong

We flow through weeks of prompts
Serendipitous promises for all to read

Like sponges we gather the spicy, the sweet
Watching seasons pass silently

The squash get planted and harvested
The trees get covered in snow

No matter the reason, from season to season,
Time flows… Still we write on

We ball up paper, covering drafts with wrinkles
Leaving behind us the best of our hearts

Whether we write about towering Ferris wheels
Or the promise of stars rising in the east each day

Always we write on, hoping to do justice
To the words of magic that choose us

The promise of coming together each week
Keeps us writing, reading, never leaving
