Announcement

We are pleased to announce that the Charged Particles “Universe” of contracts are now deployed on the Polygon zkEVM testnet!

As a Launch Partner, we are thrilled to support the Polygon team’s new zero-knowledge chain.

It’s been an exciting week, with the Polygon zkEVM Mainnet Launch Event hosted by ETHGlobal, including Vitalik Buterin, as well as core members of the Polygon Leadership.

Zero Knowledge Charged Particles

zkEVM is the first EVM compatible zk roll up, and it now supports Charged Particles functionality of “Energizable” and “Bondable” NFTs!

Following this deployment, Charged Particles NFTs can bridge to and engage on the Polygon zkEVM chain. Essentially, any transactions taking place on this chain will be private–including Energizing, Bonding, and Releasing of assets within NFTs.

Polygon Labs has stated that they will be spending significant resources to market the chain itself as well as the launch partners. That entails co-marketing, AMAs, and more. 2023 is looking bright for zk technologies…

Wait — What is zkEVM?

As the Polygon team themselves explain,

“Polygon zkEVM, which stands for zero-knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machine, leverages the power of zero-knowledge (ZK) proofs to reduce transaction costs and greatly increase throughput, all while inheriting the security of Ethereum. The ZK proof technology works by batching transactions into groups, which are then relayed to the Ethereum Network as a single, bulk transaction. The ‘gas fee’ for the single transaction is then split between all the participants involved, dramatically lowering fees.”
“For developers of payment and DeFi applications, Polygon zkEVM’s high security and censorship resistance makes it a more attractive option than other Layer 2 scaling solutions. Unlike Optimistic roll-ups where users have to wait for as long as seven days for deposits and withdrawals, zk-Rollups offer faster settlement and far better capital efficiency.”

Charged Particles is a protocol that allows users to deposit ERC-20, ERC-721, and ERC-1155 tokens into NFTs. A scarce NFT (e.g. Art, Collectible, Virtual Real Estate, In-Game Item, etc.) can now be transformed into a basket holding a number of other tokens. The Principal amount can be time-locked inside the NFT, and through integration with Aave’s aTokens, the programmable yield from these DeFi yield-generating assets is just a few clicks away.
