July was a month of innovation at Charged Particles with our co-founder Rob Secord launching a brand new token standard ERC721i, we have completed the alpha version of our SDK, and launched our DeFi NFTs 101 educational series, and new smart contracts were added to our protocol allowlist, and more!

Infinite (ERC721i) — Pre-Minting 1 Million NFTs for < $2

Our co-founder and tech lead Rob Secord minted 1 million NFTs for less than $2 by introducing a brand new token standard Infinite — ERC721i. Now you can Pre-Mint a Gazillion NFTs for nearly half of the cost of minting a single standard NFT and this does not involve any shifting of costs either — the transfer function stays completely standard!

Dev Update

We were proud to announce the completion of the alpha version of our SDK this month with an official launch coming very soon. Conversations with several external protocols have begun regarding the integration of our tech into a number of different ecosystems including Web 3.0 gaming, publishing, Metaverses, platforms, and more.

We have allowlisted Moonbirds, which means you can now nest tokens inside your Moobird NFTs.

We’ll be sponsoring the Macrohacks hackathon in August and running a hackathon of our own in September to encourage the continued development of novel technologies that are made possible by our protocol!

Charged Particles 101 Series

We have launched our multi-part course on all things DeFi NFTs. In this course, you will learn about the Charged Particles Protocol and how we are bringing brand-new functionality to the blockchain ecosystem.

Charged Particles at ETH Barcelona

We were very happy to have had the opportunity to participate at ETH Barcelona, organized by Doin Gud. Here, our Creative Director Mango Dogwood met with a number of projects focused in the area of ReFi such as Giveth, who we are looking forward to partnering with in the coming months!

Buy the Dip

While markets threaten to hit guac-bottom, and get avo-control, hungry NFT hands have been gobbling up the fantast-taco “Blue Chips” and saying Chip Chip Hooray!

The Blue Chip NFTs are 200 hand-draw corn chips that have been minted onto the Ethereum blockchain. They are now floating on the OpenSea and boasting a floor price of 15 ETH — holy guacamole!

If you missed the original drop, don’t sweat it. Rumors are circulating that the community of Blue Chip holders may expand with more crumbs (NFTs) being dropped.

Blue Chips is building on Charged Particles and the Blue Chips team are vesting their tokens inside Vesting Capsules.

NFTs with Fungible tokens for a more dynamic governance structure

Tokenized ownership & governance is a key cornerstone of this decentralized future in which we strive to create.

The industry will move beyond simple fungible “coin voting” — which has its risks of whale governance token holders dominating. And thus, the innovation in this space will shine.

Some recent examples include Optimisms’ Dual Token (SoulBound + Transferrable) model, or even thinking about the future state of Yuga as a result of their BAYC NFTs and $APE airdrop.

More projects will start to rethink their token design ideas to incorporate not only fungible/transferable tokens. The key question is, does this allow for a more flexible governance structure design? Let’s dig in

After the announcement of our new token standard ERC-721i, Charged Particles got a lot of new media attention including a wonderful article written by none other than The Defiant. Check our feature HERE. We were also featured in U.Today about our new standard.
Our co-founder and Business Lead Ben Lakoff spoke about “How to Stay Relevant on Web3?” at CoinGecko’s conference alongside Joan Kim, Investor Samsung Next, Arjun Kalsy, VP Growth Polygon & On Yavin, Founder & Managing Partner Coinintelligence Fund.
Ben Lakoff appeared on several podcasts and interviews including Blockchain Life and the Bored Chili Podcast.
We were honored to be invited to several iterations of the Sapien Network DAO Roundtables featured on their Twitter Spaces. Here we discussed the future of DAO mechanics, culture, tech, and more!

Guild Updates

Ecology Guild
The Ecology Guild, lead by community member Trex of Avano, has been soaring to new heights this month. Celebrating the success of our first ReFi oriented event “Return To Green” that took place across several Metaverse spaces as well as a physical location in New Zealand, the Ecology Guild is making connections around the world and throughout the crypto ecosystem.

Sister community Dip Dao also contributed 1.45 ETH to our native Grandmother Grove project, leading to another 5000+ trees being planted worldwide.

Visual Arts Guild
In collaboration with the Ecology Guild, our Visual Arts Guild, lead by the legendary Danil Pan and in partnership with The AGAH, organized 48 artists to contribute 65 pieces of artwork for an auction that ran in parallel to the “Return To Green” event. This auction has lead to the raising of 5.3 ETH which was donated to community initiatives hosted by Giveth.

Music Guild
Unchained Music continues to make exciting developments in the world of Web 3.0 music with the launch their social token NOISE to recognize community contributions, as well as a number of very exciting alpha developments that were announced throughout the month during their regular “Web 3.0 Music Room” Twitter Spaces and in their Discord community.

Gaming Guild
Our native blockchain game Polygorn, developed and organized by Gaming Guild Chief Cybertooth Kat, is seeing a steady growth in player base, ongoing weekly battles, and the excitement of new mechanics as players begin to level up their monsters to level two an beyond. Keep an eye on the gaming guild for a lot more Polygorn development in the coming weeks!

DeFi Guild
This month we also opened up our brand new DeFi Guild to talk about innovative developments utilizing Charged Particles for new financial tooling and models!

Team Member Spotlight

Danil got into crypto in 2017 as a very earnest investor. It wasn’t until 2019 that he discovered NFTs with Enjin and truly found a community he loved being a part of. And in April of 2020 he began creating art, Co-founded the AGAH, and took on the Community Manager type role. In his freetime he loves hanging out with his wife, plays videogames and of course makes art!

About Charged Particles

Charged Particles is a protocol that allows users to deposit ERC-20, ERC-721, and ERC-1155 tokens into NFTs. A scarce NFT (e.g. Art, Collectible, Virtual Real Estate, In-Game Item, etc.) can now be transformed into a basket holding a number of other tokens. The Principal amount can be time-locked inside the NFT, and through integration with Aave’s aTokens, the programmable yield from these DeFi yield-generating assets is just a few clicks away.
