NFT Launch — Everything You Need To Know For A Successful Drop 🚀

MetaDads NFT Collection

Most people involved in the NFT/Crypto space have been part of someone else's launch, or have wanted to launch their own NFT project, mainly due to financial profitability reasons… There should always be more to a project than money, but to each their own…

In this guide, I will teach you how to launch your own generative art NFT collection utilizing OpenSea on the Ethereum network.

Necessities:

1- Artist to create the art for your NFT’s (musician, digital artist, poet, etc…)
2- Smart Contract Developer to create the smart contract for your NFT collection. If you AREN’T doing generative art and you AREN’T having a launch day/mint, then you may not necessarily need a smart contract or developer…

In reality, these two people (or one person) are all you need to create your own NFT collection.

In actuality though, you will probably not sell any of those NFT’s without proper marketing or exceptionally great art.

Even though the necessities for launching your own NFT collection are minimal, to actually sell the NFT’s is a whole different ball game.

Marketing:

A good NFT collection team usually consists of 1–2 smart contract developers/front-end developers, 1 artist, and 2–3 marketers.

The key (right now) to selling your NFT collection is through marketing and social proof. If people see others talking about your project, they will become more interested in it themselves.

You’re going to need to become a marketer or hire a good (team) of marketer(s)…

You will basically need to utilize Twitter and Discord as the main social outlets. You may also choose to use other, “less popular” social outlets like TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, or even Podcast or LinkedIn

IMO, the best way to get sales on your project is by utilizing Influencers and “Alpha Groups” to promote word of mouth.

With good marketing, sold back-end fundamentals, catchy art, and good user experience, you MIGHT be able to sell some of your NFT’s because it’s truly not as easy as one might think…

EXAMPLE:

1st Steps:

Let’s say we want to launch a 10k Generative Art NFT collection called “Dope Dogs” that supports saving dogs' lives from being euthanized and giving stray dogs homes…

1st thing we need to do is find an artist. Since our collection is called “Dope Dogs”, we should try to look for an artist across all socials, on Upwork, Fiverr, and through word of mouth. We should find someone who draws “DOPE” looking art, probably not a kids cartoon artist. The artist should also know that the generative art needs to be “layered” meaning the body is one layer, the head is another layer, the ears, the nose, accessories, etc…

Once we have the artist and commission him to create generative/layered art for our 10k NFT collection, we need to find a Smart Contract Developer/Front-End Developer/ Web3 Full Stack Developer.

Ideally, the developer can create the website for you with minting capabilities utilizing Metamask, be able to code the generative art so the art layers are randomly assigned with rarity traits, and can also create a visually stunning/audience-captivating website. If you want a Whitelist or pre-sale, make sure the coder can do that too.

The coder(s)/programmer(s) are very important to the functionality of your NFT project, so make sure the programmer has experience launching these generative art collections and has coded web3 Dapps before (allows the use of cryptocurrency/NFT’s)

Now that we have our two necessities; the “Dope” artist, and the amazing programmer, we can get to the rest of the project…

Next Steps:

We need to decide what blockchain, and on what NFT marketplace, we want to have our NFT’s live on. The most common is Ethereum blockchain on the OpenSea NFT Marketplace. This is what we’ll utilize as well.

We should now start setting up all our social accounts that we’re going to be utilizing. Twitter is easy. Discord may require help, which you can hire good help to set up, secure, and teach you how to operate for pretty cheap off upwork/fiverr…

We’ll also have to decide when we think all of this can be completed and we have enough of an audience for a suitable launch. Maybe it’s 2mo from now…

This would give us 2mo to finish the art, deploy a smart contract, create a minting website, develop community through socials, and generally gain traction for a successful launch.

We should also find partnerships, not only with other NFT collections, but with animal shelters and cliniques to fulfill our “save dogs” mission as well.

IMO, the hardest part of this project will be the consistency of communication, outreaching to potential buyers/friends, and gaining an audience for your project.

THAT’S IT! All that may not sound too difficult, but I assure you, in this now-crowded market, it is…

This guide teaches you the very basics of launching your own generative art NFT collection.

ALWAYS BE CAREFUL!!!⚠️

I can’t stress this enough! Be extremely vigilant and aware of every link you click, every transaction you make, and every person you interact with, as scammers are plentiful in the space and rugs get pulled from the best looking of projects.

Triple check all links before you click them and make sure they’re the official link you’re looking for. Also triple check all wallet address’s before sending anything valuable to yourself or someone else.
