Day 102
Today is a ToastBox day. She’s up early and nothing in the house is acceptable for breakfast. I completely agree with her. We quickly get ready — only slightly delayed by a cascading approach to getting dressed. I dress Stormy and she dresses her Lemur. Today Lemur (who’s name is Lemur) is the Mummy toy so, while it’s OK for all the other toys to be naked, she has to be dressed.
We eventually get to ToastBox and the gentleman behind the counter confirms my order before I even open my mouth. We might come here a little too often. I drop her to school in a taxi before heading off to work.
I leave work early for a specialists appointment. I’m told that I need to go for surgery (nothing serious). Which, in true Singapore style, is promptly booked for Monday. When I get home I explain this to Stormy and, after asking where I’m broken and if the Doctor will put all my bones back (?), she accepts it all very calmly.
The rest of the evening goes as usual. That is until I get her into bed where, within 20 minutes, she emerges wearing nothing but underpants and sunglasses and wielding two sticks. “Do I look cool?” she asks. “Absolutely”. She explains the costume, “These are special glasses that let me see in the dark and this is a sword and this is a fire (flaming torch).”
Ah.
