2016 was an exciting year full of many adventures! Here are a few of our favorite foodie destinations to check out in the New Year.

This year was full of many New York City firsts for us — we were on TV, we finally saw the Statue of Liberty, and Shayna had Dim Sum for the first time, just to name a few. You know we’re suckers for a good listicle, whether it’s the yummiest food to eat this season or the best fireplace bars to keep you nice and toasty; so with a new year right around the corner, we thought we’d pull together the best of all of our adventures during 2016, so you can start 2017 off right!

The Best Pizza

Picking the best slice in the city seems nearly impossible, but our Twitter followers gave us some great recommendations to narrow down the search. While we loved all the spots we checked out, Sottocasa Pizzeria in Williamsburg has kept us coming back for more. The pizza is delicious and the atmosphere is welcoming and friendly!

The Best Ramen

If you’re looking for a hot, delicious meal to warm you up this winter, look no further than one of the many ramen places around the Big Apple. We took the liberty of testing out noodle dishes in a few different neighborhoods, and we highly recommend checking out Kogane Ramen in Brooklyn! It’s cozy, the staff is friendly, and best of all: the ramen is savory, salty, and slurp-worthy!

The Best Cold-Weather Cocktail

There’s not much that will bring us out of our hibernation chambers during the cold, unforgiving NYC winter, but any one of these cocktails is well worth bundling up for. Our pick for the best cold-weather cocktail is the Campfire Fancy from Boilermaker. It tastes like a campfire in a glass and will be sure to warm you up. Did we mention it comes with a marshmallow garnish?

The Best Fall Treat

Some people only eat pumpkin during the fall, but we love it year-round. The versatile flavor can be integrated into everything from pancakes to ravioli. And while you may only be able to get them during the fall season, the pumpkin doughnuts from Doughnut Plant are to die for.

The Best Iced Coffee

We’re coffee addicts, and we’re proud of it! No matter the time of year, we’re always up for a delicious, refreshing iced coffee. We scoured the streets of the Big Apple to find the best places to get your chilled caffeine fix, and while it’s hard for us to pick one as our favorite, La Colombe certainly takes the cake! We just can’t resist their creamy, frothy Draft Lattes.

The Best Ice Cream

When it comes to ice cream, we don’t discriminate. Chocolate, vanilla, birthday cake — we’re probably going to eat it no matter the flavor or the number of sprinkles. But there are a few places in the city that we’re always eager to visit for some creamy goodness, namely: Big Gay Ice Cream. One bite of their Salty Pimp cone will make up for the wait in line!

The Best Brunch Spot

Brunch takes on a whole new meaning in New York — it’s an experience, not just a meal. That’s why we pulled together a list of the best places to get your brunch on, thanks to all of our Twitter followers who gave us awesome recommendations. Our favorite by far was Jacob’s Pickles on the UWS. We just can’t get enough of those ahh-mazing biscuits and gravy…or their chicken and pancakes…or basically their entire menu.
