I. Infrastructure and Tool Development

MainNet Maintenance and Development

Ethereum has just completed the switch to Proof Of Stake. To follow the current technological development trend, HPB plans to launch a non-BOE mining option, so that more nodes can support the MainNet through the conversion of pledge and voting without installing BOE hardware. This feature aims to further energize HPB supporters. The focus of the technical team this month is on developing the BOE mining version. The specific work involved is summarized as follows:

Analyzed the feasibility of the non-BOE mining option;
Completed the technical architecture design of the non-BOE mining option;
Done with the writing of relevant documentation (technical implementation documents, manuals, etc.);
Partially designed the UI of the application page;
Partially completed the code development of the non-BOE mining option;
Partly completed the unit test of the non-BOE mining option.

HPB plans to officially launch the software mining version on 1st November 2022, so stay tuned!

Other Events of the MainNet are as follows:

Increased prometheus.getAllVoters interface to support getting all voting data;
Added the prometheus_getAllHpbNodes interface to support obtaining voter information.

The new functions above are planned to be officially released in MainNet Version 1.0.9.3.

Hscan and Other Tools

Increased RPC log display to show indicators such as total request amount and load balancing;
Improved the availability of RPC and add RPC server nodes;
Added the https://cn.hpbnode.com RPC service;
Optimized the block monitor function to to show the number of blocks nodes lost in real time;
Continued to optimize hpb-remix and fixed the known issues;
Fixed the problem of abnormal percentage display on Top Accounts;
Added Setting function to Hscan to support Chinese so as to serve the Chinese community;
Released HPB random-number transaction platform to support the transactions of random numbers.

In September, HPB Chinese Telegram group launched activities such as invitation rewards and active ranking rewards. 2,789 people have been added to the community.

Website Review

A community review of www.hpb.io is now underway. The short-term plan is to refresh the written content and to add extra pages to bring it up to date.

Hscan now supports Chinese

The Hscan block explorer now supports Chinese, so users can freely set the interface to English or Chinese according to their own language preferences.

Hscan is one of the tools most frequently used by HPB developers and community members. Thanks to continuous development of this block explorer since its release in December 2021, Hscan now provides block and transaction information query, node status monitoring, smart contract verification, token generator, token batch distribution, faucet, and Developer API — a series of rich and practical functions and tools that make it easy for users to find and share information.

Hscan is committed to creating the most complete block explorer for the HPB community. Hscan will continue to improve its functions and provide users with a better product experience. Everyone is welcome to use it and provide feedback.

I. Infrastructure and Tool Development

MainNet Maintenance and Development

Optimized the rewards and penalty mechanism of the Consensus Algorithm -nodes that are not online will lose rewards;
Added the function that counts the lost blocks of mining nodes;
Added the transaction playback monitoring function;
Fixed the problem that nodes would fail to verify hardware random numbers;
Partially completed research into a mechanism to automatically upgrade the MainNet.

Hscan and Other Infrastructure

Fixed the Hscan TokenTransfer parsing error bug;
Optimized the code of BOE to make it compatible with specific machines;
Optimized the contract verification function to make it compatible with all compiler versions;
Added a new function for broadcasting raw transactions to the network via Hscan;
Improved the login of Hscan, supporting functions such as customized collection after login;
Added the function of localization to Hscan pages, planned to launch in mid-September.

Random Number Oracle

Modified the random number acquisition mechanism after subscription;
Increased the use of hardware random numbers on HPB;
Adjusted “My Purchase” page to support random number subscription;
Increased support for remix to write customized random number subscription;
Optimized documentation and usage tutorials;
Developed srng-robot to enable automatic submission and verification by submitters.

MainNet API Services

Customized the monitoring function of https://hpbnode.com/ to view the load and request situations in real time;
Promoted https://cn.hpbnode.com/ and routed the current service to 9 new nodes, which improved API efficiency;
Integrated monitoring function into Hscan, so that customers can view and choose the appropriate route.

II. Ecosystem

Hpdex

Hpdex Farm ended early and opened the liquidity pairs one after another for withdrawal, following an attack. Hpdex Farm will be completely closed on October 31, 2022. Hpdex users must retrieve all the pledged liquidity before then. See:

I. Infrastructure and Tool Development

MainNet Basic Functions

Optimized the Consensus Algorithm by adding an automatic penaltymechanism;
Added a monitoring interface to the MainNet Node to ensure node security;
Optimized the network of the MainNet Node to improve the stability of the MainNet service;
Partially completed the development of a MainNet version that will support non-BOE nodesas well, which is planned to be launched in October;
Completed the MainNet hardware test and planned to launch the new firmware version in September.

HRG DApp Development

Completed the development and testing of the first version of the DApps showcase;

Adjusted the callback methods of HRG subscription and fixed potential security hazards.

Hscan and Infrastructure Optimization

Fixed the back-end contract verification function of Hscan;
Optimized UI front-end functions of Hscan;
Fixed Hscan’s incompatibility with Firefox browser;
Completed the optimization of Hscan API, and standardized the data format of the current API to make it familiar to Ethereum developers;
Optimized the Hscan query service for the data associated with a single transaction;
Completed the Unit Converter function of Hscan;
Added the function for broadcasting a Raw Transaction;
Added the Gas Price function.

Other Basic Settings

Partially completed the monitoring tool of https://hpbnode.com, displaying the current data request volume in real time;
Completed the optimization of dynamic password for Android phones.

Hscan adds DCPP confidential payment transaction contract queries

Hscan users can now query and confirm the status of confidential transfers between HPB accounts. See：https://hscan.org/cftxs

The new DCPP confidential payment interface makes it easy for users to search for and find a transaction. The interface shows a transaction’s Txn Hash, the Block it was written, when it was written (Age), the transaction fee, and where it was sent from.

Two types of transaction are recorded on the interface:

1) Transactions showing the amount of HPB converted to HCASH for future private transfers. This shows in the Value column of the transactions list.

2) Transactions conducted using HCASH where the amount transferred and the HCASH balance of the sending wallet remain private. These show as 0 HPB Value transactions in the transactions list.

I. Infrastructure and Tool Development

MainNet Upgrading & Maintenance

Completed the design and development of the MainNet penalty mechanism;
Completed the research on the proxy mechanism for offline nodes;
Optimized the MainNet block production speed;
Done with the transaction replay function of the MainNet to increase the security when the system is upgraded;
Completion of the research on the performance optimization of the MainNet;
Partial completion of the operation and maintenance monitoring service of the MainNet;
Upgrading of the newly added node and the binding of the bootnode.

Hscan

Completion of functionality for browser transaction thumbnails;
Completion of the analysis and data storage of Anonymous Payment contracts;
Partially completed the function of Anonymous Payment page display;
Completed the Tag display function for smart contracts;
Contract verification for random number contracts with compiler version 0.5.7;
Integrated random number instructions for multiple Solidity version compilers.

Random Number Application

Completed the development of the random number contract and some contract writing;
