These are my missions for this month — a bunch of simple tasks or challenges to be completed every single day.

The Missions

Every day in August I will:

Wake up at 5:41am. Every single day. No other choice.

Go for a long walk after getting up. Still following my standard route which is 4.6km (2.9mi) and it takes about 40mins.

Do 100 push-ups. I’m sticking with the daily 100 number but again trying to do more of the 20-rep sets.

Do a mobility & stretching routine for 15mins. Again, this needs to be a stronger focus for me in August and with a more structured routine.

Complete all 3 activity rings on my Apple Watch. I’m really proud of my current streak of 274 days and I’m not letting it drop yet. My current daily Move goal is set to 3260 kJ (or 780 calories).

Read a physical book for at least 30mins. Same as the last few months. Just a good solid practice to keep up.

Write in a logbook about the previous day. I still continue to struggle with this practice and getting the right format for each day. I made some improvements in July and plan to continue with the same structure in August.

No email or social media before 10am. Basically, the goal is that if I’m using a screen in the morning then it’s for work-related stuff (research, design, project management etc). After last month, I know I just have to be more disciplined about it.

So with August now all planned out…let’s go!

‘Missions’ is a special project I started in December 2017. Little daily challenges, completed every month. Here’s my progress over previous months:
