With the release of the first stage of the fiat gateway, the addition of our first stablecoin, and support for ten new digital assets on the ICONOMI platform, May was an extraordinary month for ICONOMI. Read on for the complete overview.
Fiat Gateway
At the end of May, we released the first stage of one of our biggest milestones so far: the fiat gateway. Users can now make over-the-counter deals with ICONOMI, purchasing bitcoin or ether with fiat and having it deposited directly into their account, which makes buying into Digital Asset Arrays faster and easier than ever. For the full details, read our announcement.
TrueUSD Stablecoin
With the addition of the TrueUSD stablecoin to the ICONOMI platform, DAA managers have a way to lock in gains and minimize risks in times of high volatility. This addition also represents the achievement of another one of our goals for 2018.
Ten New Digital Assets
In May, we added ten new digital assets over ten days: Ælf, Binance Coin, CyberMiles, Litecoin, Loom Network, NEO, Power Ledger, Stellar, Wanchain, and Zilliqa. Read more in our blog post, or read about our process for adding new digital assets here.
New DAAs
MoonShot by ArabFolio.Capital (MOON)
MOON is our first DAA based in the Middle East. Manager ArabFolio Capital aims “to bridge the gap between Eastern and Western investment opportunities by providing institutional and individual investors with an easy and frictionless gateway for entering the world of blockchain and digital assets.”
Global Macro Crypto (GMC)
Marking another first for ICONOMI, GMC is based in Latin America. GMC is “a well-hedged DAA diversified into different types of digital assets: protocols, utilities, DAOs, and dapps.”
Mobile App Updates
On May 22, we upgraded the official ICONOMI iOS app to enable Tier 1 and Tier 2 verification directly from your phone. Trading functionality was removed due to Apple’s restrictions on some specific digital assets.
In June, we also upgraded the Android app to enable direct Tier 1 and Tier 2 verification.
New Supported Countries
Eight new countries are now available for Tier 2 verification: United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Ghana, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Malawi, Peru, and Serbia. For the full list of supported countries, visit our Knowledge Base.
Landing Page Redesign
We redesigned our landing page to create a more impactful experience for new visitors to our website.
50K Twitter Followers
We have achieved a new milestone for ICONOMI social media: reaching over 50K followers on Twitter. To celebrate, we will be giving away some free ICONOMI merchandise to Twitter followers selected at random (note: we will not be giving away any digital assets).
All-Time DAA Charts
Charts for DAAs can now be extended to any period of time, including since the DAA’s creation. See them in action here.
