Your environment consists of everything in your surrounding, the tangible and the intangible (attitudes, mindsets, beliefs, and more).

The environment has a huge impact on us because in most ways it shapes who we become. We make our decisions based on what we have and what we can see in our environment.

You cannot choose something if you are not conscious of it.

If you didn’t know what it means to be healthy, you wouldn’t make the decision to forego your health by leading a healthy lifestyle.

If you weren’t aware of the content creation world, you wouldn’t choose to create every day and do everything it takes to get your work in front of the right audience.

Your environment does not consist of your immediate physical surroundings only. It extends to everything you interact with. The content you consume in books or social media is also part of your environment.

There are several ways the environment affects the quality of your life. One of these is a positive or negative view of the world.

Having a positive or negative outlook on life has a lot to do with our mindset, but that is often also influenced by our environment.

If you are capable of filtering your environment and not letting the negative affect your general outlook on life and energy, it is because you trained your mind to do that.

You were able to train your mind because you were exposed to an environment that taught you the importance of doing that.

The world manifests itself more or less in the same way to all of us. Some people become victims of their environment, and others become masters of their environment and use it to nurture themselves.

The second set of people has a positive relationship with their environment.

Everything is not always positive. Life has never been entirely fair to anyone. There has never been a moment in time where one individual did not experience any negativity in the world; loss, inflation, indecisiveness, or lack of the things they needed.

It is how you navigate through life that determines the kind of person you become.

Your reaction to your environment forges the person you become. Your reaction to your environment is determined by the person you are now or have previously been. The person you are is a sum of the environment you have been in.

It is a cycle. Whether virtuous or vicious solely depends on your mindset and growth.

At one point in time, none of us have a hang on how to be the person we want to be and not one who’s merely a result of our environment. We didn’t know that we could be different people.

Unexplained circumstances and events lead you to the kind of environment that may evoke a change within you. Whether that change happens or not solely depends on your mindset.

You may have more than one opportunity to initiate that change. Some people see the essence, some people do not.

The latter remain victims of their environment for almost all of their time on earth. The former learn how to use the environment as it is to nurture themselves.

I will be exploring this topic in detail with several unlisted articles from tomorrow.

I am the person I am today; a passionate writer with two online communities, a fitness enthusiast, and much more because I got to learn how to use my environment, the good and the bad, to nurture myself.

Before I knew I could be a different person, I hated my life, was unfit, unproductive, and lived effortlessly on autopilot.
