Note from the editor

The White Papers in this collection aim to inform European journalists and editors about the pro’s and con’s of key disruptive trends in journalism and to offer concrete scenarios to implement those technologies in their newsrooms. The papers are written by students of the course Journalism Trends & Technologies, teached by Ike Picone in the Master in Journalism and Media in Europe at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. The course adresses new trends & technologies in journalism, and encourages students to critically reflect on the disruptions and continuities in journalism as a business, practice and societal institution.
