A Monthly Note From Mind in the Gap
Recapping and celebrating our first official month!
Hi there, it’s Maria Garcia, owner of the Mind in the Gap publication.
So glad you are here! Welcome to the very first Monthly Newsletter. May was a month of beginnings, so let’s dive into our first wins and contributions!
Our Team of Writers & Readers
I would like to individually thank all of the writers who have shared their beautiful stories with us, as well as the readers who have decided to follow along for the ride!
Sajjad Choudhury, Natalie B. Kemp, Barry Silverstein, Lara da Rocha, Lauren Bartleson, and Felicity Koh.
I hope you can all find inspiration and insights from the stories shared in this publication. It’s a pleasure to have you here! :)
Stories of the Month
This month, we have received insightful contributions from writers which have explored the importance of an intergenerational world, and the simplicity of that which we can learn from children. I have also shared a piece on women and movement through the ages.
- Envisioning an Intergenerational World: What would it be like if generations really got along? by Barry Silverstein
- Playing With Rocks: Three stories about one of the best toys nature has to offer by Natalie B. Kemp
- Moving into The Body: Women and movement through the ages by Maria Garcia
Conversations Series Contributions
We also launched our first series called Conversations, where we recall dialogues that bridge intergenerational voices and perspectives. Get inspiration from these first four conversations and share some more! We would love to hear your dialogues!
- My 8-Year-Old Brother Wanted to Invent a Time Machine: Why did no one think of it before? by Sajjad Choudhury
- Lessons From a 14-Year-Old: A Boomer finds an unexpected friendship by Barry Silverstein
- I Did Yoga With My 5 and 7-Year-Old Cousins: One of them gave up after 5 minutes by Maria Garcia
- Your Size Doesn’t Determine The Volume of Your Voice: I lost in a screaming competition with a 5 and 7-year-old by Maria Garcia
And Finally, A Huge Thank You
Mind in the Gap would not be here without your support! I hope this publication can continue to bridge together all ages and perspectives! A big thank you to all the writers who have shared their beautiful stories, and to all the readers who enjoy experiencing these stories and topics through the eyes of all ages!
