We enjoyed a successful showing at Consensus 2022 as the Oasis Network filled the room, and had more people lining up outside, to be part of our session. From an overview of the Oasis Network, given by Linda Lu, Head of Ecosystem at Oasis, to a demo on using Web3 on Oasis, and an investor fireside chat with founder of Oasis Labs, Dawn Song, Oasis certainly made a splash at the major event.

What was discussed?

Linda Lu, Head of Ecosystem at Oasis, opened the session with a brief overview of the Oasis Network, discussing what makes Oasis a critical pillar for the advancement of Web3, and how it can unlock the full potential of DeFi in the future.

Linda’s talk highlighted Confidential NFTs on Oasis — data-backed NFTs which offer far more functionality than what we know today with these digital assets. She showcased bishop’s Army of Minions as an example of how private data stored on an NFT can make for a powerful use case of NFTs.

Linda also looked at what we can expect next in a decentralized society, supported by Emerald ParaTime, Cipher Paratime and the upcoming confidential EVM ParaTime. This included decentralized ID, private DeFi, new assets — including Confidential NFTs, data tokenization, and data assets — as well as the importance of Data DAOs.

The excitement grew through the session, leading up to the main focus of the workshop — the fireside chat. Rachel Wolfson, Senior Reporter at CoinTelegraph, moderated a discussion between Dawn Song, Oasis Labs Founder, Haseeb Qureshi, Managing Partner at Dragonfly Capital, and Kanav Kariya, President at Jump Crypto. They talked about what it takes to succeed in crypto and what they think is next for DeFi and Web3.

“Is my algorithm biased?” Presentation

Dawn Song also participated as a speaker in the “Is My Algorithm Biased? The Imperative of Inclusion for Crypto” presentation on the main stage of the Austin Conference Centre, which also had a tremendous turnout.

Why is Oasis a destination for Web3 building?

The Oasis Network is actively working on being a prime destination for Web3 builders today, and into the future. With its emphasis on privacy, and powerful multi-layered architecture, the Oasis Network can support a multitude of projects looking to be the architects of the new internet. Emerald, the EVM compatible ParaTime, allows easy integration with EVM-based Dapps, such as DeFi, NFTs, Metaverse, and crypto gaming. In addition, we provide tools for developers who want more advanced features and applications that work seamlessly within decentralized networks, including:

  • Scalable, reliable, and versatile architecture
  • Parallel Workloads
  • Efficient design
