The biggest HackAtom in Cosmos history is live, offering developers around the world the chance to compete for their share of a massive $1,000,000 of ATOM in prizes. Considering the Cosmos governance updates, Cosmos Proposal #58 has successfully passed. This signal proposal is to ask Atom stakers about adopting Budget and Farming modules on Cosmos Hub for general utility incentivization mechanism in near future.
All Cosmos Hub validators, prepare for the Vega upgrade which includes various versioning updates to ensure the security of the core components that the Cosmos Hub relies on, like Cosmos SDK, Tendermint Core, and IBC. The updates will also serve to avoid consensus errors, and improve efficiency through features like fee and voting delegation. The Vega upgrade is essential to enhance the performance of the Cosmos Hub and ensure that future upgrades occur seamlessly.
Tendermint’s new release, v0.35 is here. It’s packed with some eagerly awaited and much requested features. It contains no block protocol breaking changes and has been carefully designed to be easy to integrate for the users.
As for the Cosmos ecosystem news: Agoric’s public mainnet is live. Moreover, the team raises $32M for JavaScript dApps on Cosmos. On November 15, IRISnet successfully upgraded its mainnet to IRIS Hub 1.2. Supernova — Secret’s first major mainnet upgrade since Secret Contracts launched in September 2020 — is officially live. BitTorrent Chain (BTTC), a cross-chain scaling solution has integrated with Binance Smart Chain (BSC) as one of the first public chains in its ecosystem to bring cross-chain features to its users. Meet the October Monthly Stars for MVBIII. The Injective Canonical Chain Mainnet is live. The Canonical Chain brings unrestricted transfers and trading on the mainnet alongside robust token economics, seamless interoperability, novel products and the most powerful exchange in the world of DeFi. Injective Proposals 67 and 68 related to enabling the Band IBC Oracle have passed. The IBC token transfer is now live on BandChain. Band Protocol October 2021 Community Update was published. Crypto.org Chain Desktop Wallet has been introduced. Polygon deploys fiat on-ramps via Alchemy Pay, enabling direct fiat payments for DeFi. e-Money’s EEUR & NGM Listed on Omni-chain DEX Sifchain. Calling All Cosmos Hub Validators — The Vega Upgrade Is Here
Full details of the Vega upgrade can be found here, but essentially, the upgrade includes various versioning updates to ensure the security of the core components that the Cosmos Hub relies on, like Cosmos SDK, Tendermint Core, and IBC. The updates will also serve to avoid consensus errors, and improve efficiency through features like fee and voting delegation. The Vega upgrade is essential to enhance the performance of the Cosmos Hub and ensure that future upgrades occur seamlessly.
Vega is the second major upgrade in the Cosmos Hub roadmap 2.0. The Delta upgrade, completed in July 2021, brought the Gravity DEX protocol to the Cosmos Hub, enabling cross-chain token swaps and driving liquidity, among its many other benefits.
The Vega upgrade brings two new modules to the Cosmos SDK, therefore to the Cosmos Hub: the Fee grant module that will allow paying fees on behalf of another account, and the Authz module, which will provide governance functions to execute transactions on behalf of another account. Other additions include improved versioning of both IBC and Tendermint Core and adding the IBC router to the Hub, as per governance proposal 56, proposed by StrangeLove Ventures.

Band Protocol:
- Band Protocol October 2021 Community Update: October is a month where we have observed Phase 2 functionality in motion, creating excitement between the strategic partners and community members. Band has moved the data request operation fully to Laozi Mainnet where they see more than 1M requests in a month and secure more than $10 billion dollars in smart contracts that have integrated Band oracle. We have seen active community participation through Band 70+ validators who help to secure BandChain and through the voter turnout on proposals to enable Phase 2 features of IBC-oracle and that of IBC-Transfer that is still currently ongoing. With IBC infrastructure that serves as another distribution channel of Band Oracle service, the team is working closely with their partners to make sure that the service will not only be successful but scalable for more adoption. IRIS Network:
- IRIS Hub 1.2 mainnet has been successfully upgraded: On November 15 at around 4:30:00 a.m. UTC, IRISnet successfully upgraded its mainnet to IRIS Hub 1.2. The upgraded mainnet, as well as the integrated TIBC protocol and enhanced NFT features have gone live, which will further push up the network utility rate and better support business applications and use cases, especially in terms of cross-chain NFT and trustworthy global trade of digital/digitized artworks. As planned in the upgrade proposal & pre-announcement, the node software halted at block height 12534300 (2021–11–14 16:30:00 UTC), to allow all nodes to upgrade. After approximately 12 hours, the voting power of validators who had completed the upgrade exceeded 67%, and all nodes began running, indicating that the upgrade has been completed successfully. The upgraded mainnet IRIS Hub 1.2 has integrated TIBC protocol and enhanced NFT features to better support various business scenarios, including cross-border trade of digital/digitized artwork, and bring us one step closer to the vision of the Internet of Values.
