Ethereum 2.0 is up and running smoothly! With more than 358,800 active validators and thousands more queued up and waiting to join the network, the Ethereum 2.0:

The long-awaited Ethereum Merge, the network’s migration to Proof-of-Stake (PoS), was delayed from its scheduled release of June this year. Developers working on the upgrade suggested there is still a fair amount of trial and error to go and estimated the completion time would be a few months after June.
Erigon v20220402-alpha: adds support for the merge & upgrade 1 for Erigon v2; need to sync from scratch as alpha not compatible with beta database
Erigon architecture: components are separable and can run in same process

Polkadot

Congratulations to Litentry on winning Polkadot’s 15th parachain auction. Litentry will be onboarded at the beginning of lease 8 — bringing their decentralized cross-chain identity aggregator to Polkadot. Almost 3.5k network stakeholders locked up DOT in favor.
Polkadot v0.9.19 has been released with low upgrade priority. The native Polkadot runtime of this version, 9190, includes support for XCM.
Motion 185, funding RadiumBlock’s validator snapshot service, has been passed by the Polkadot Council.
Referendum 59, to unbrick the Phala parachain, is passing by a wide margin.
Motion 191, to issue a batch proposal to upgrade Polkadot to runtime v9190 and Statemint to runtime v900, is under consideration by the Polkadot Council.
After successfully passing Referendum 187, the Encointer parachain has now been upgraded to full functionality.
Referendum 186, to remove Zug Capital from the Kusama Council, has failed.

The Algorand Foundation is committing $15M over five years by matching funds (up to $2.5M annually) raised by Climate Ride participants and contributing $500K annually for program expansion. The Cosmos Theta upgrade quietly went live. The upgrade marks the official launch of Interchain Accounts, a module that has the potential to drastically boost interoperability, traffic and composability on the internet of blockchains. Interchain Accounts will allow the rise of a vast array of possibilities that further strengthen Cosmos as a precursor and established leader in blockchain interoperability. You can see Interchain Accounts as granting blockchains the ability to open up their native functionalities as an “API” to be custom written by another chain, and then executing the write states to these endpoints over the Interchain Account channels.

Synthetix has begun incentivizing veCRV voters to vote for the sUSD gauge on Optimism. It makes more economic sense than direct incentives because, for every $1 spent on obtaining votes, the sUSD pool will receive more than $1 in CRV emissions to our curve pool. Put simply: Synthetix spends $1 to receive more than $1 in CRV emissions to the sUSD pool on Optimism. These pool rewards can be earned by users once the rewards are active next week.
