I Fixed this One Pinterest Mistake & Got 193K Impressions on a Single Pin (It’s Damn Simple!)
(You won’t believe how much it can affect your rankings.)
Pinterest can take you close to millions of people and that too without spending a single $!
Seems too good to be true.
Right?
Well, it may sound a bit unrealistic, but the fact is — it’s 100% true.
I’ve experienced it myself, even though I started as a complete newbie.
I made mistakes, implemented new strategies, doubled down on what worked and gradually with a slow and steady learning curve able to cross 70 Million Impressions on Pinterest.
You know what’s the best part?
It’s all — Organic. I didn’t use any paid ads.
And how could I? Pinterest ads aren’t even a thing in India yet. LOL😊
Here’re the analytics of my Pinterest account showing the total impressions I get on different pins⬇️.
As you can see in the snapshot, I’m able to hit more than 193K impressions on a single pin.
That’s huge!
Especially if you’re not using any paid ads.
I’ve also ranked on the Pinterest feed for 7 consecutiv e times!
Before you come to any conclusions, let me make it very clear — It isn’t an overnight success.
I invested time figuring out what truly works for me — testing tools, hashtags, post timing, and content strategies.
Trial and error were my guides until I found the winning formula.
In this blog post, I want to share one very common and silly mistake that I used to make when I just started creating content on Pinterest.
I see a lot of new Pinterest creators making this same mistake, which can really affect their rankings.
Not only rankings, their audience engagement, impressions rate, and consequently the growth of their Pinterest account.
So, if you want to know about that mistake and how to fix it, stay tuned🙌
This mistake is — Using Bad Visuals for Your Pins.
As you may know, Pinterest is a visual search engine, meaning more emphasis is given to the visual appeal.
When scrolling through Pinterest, people are naturally drawn to pins that catch their eye or evoke an emotion.
Whether it’s curiosity or surprise, it’s that feeling that prompts them to click.
Take a moment to test it yourself!
Open Pinterest, browse through the feed and see which pins stand out to you.
They’re likely the ones that resonate with your emotions and make you want to explore further.
That’s how your potential audience thinks and reacts!
Now, you might be wondering —
- Do I only need to use good visuals?
- Is there nothing related to the text?
I’ll explain!
To make a pin visually appealing I split it into two parts:
- The visuals
- The text/branding (Check the 5-Step Framework to fix this!)
As far as the visuals are concerned, opt for images that convey an emotion relevant to your content.
For instance, if you’re introducing a lesser-known tool through your pin, consider using an image with a shocked expression to grab attention.
This connection between image and content makes your pin more compelling and likely to attract clicks.
