At the dawn of a new year, we’re pleased to report on a slew of new developments at REMME HQ. We haven’t been resting on our laurels over the festive period — there was far too much work to be done and partnerships to be forged. In this, our December update, we bring you the latest developments from our increasingly hectic world!

The postscript to the pre-sale

On December 25th, REMME concluded its pre-sale. It was a great success and we’re extremely grateful to everyone who participated and showed their support throughout. We raised a total of around $1.8 million from over 500 whitelisted participants who took part. We paid out a 20% pre-sale bonus and an additional 10% for REMME family members and support came from all over. We were particularly pleased to be able to count the Bits Capital and Crypto Art funds among our ranks, who joined us as early supporters. Read the short summary here.

Fresh talent joins REMME

Team REMME is now larger and smarter than ever thanks to the acquisition of some top talent. We’re pleased to report that a trifecta of wise heads have decided to join our voyage to safer seas, where passwordless authentication is the standard by which other security protocols are measured.

Oleksii Baranovskyi, PhD, has joined us as Chief Cybersecurity Scientist. He’s one of Ukraine’s premier experts on cybersecurity with more than 15 years’ hands-on experience. Oleksii’s expertise will prove invaluable as we set about building out the REMME protocol. In addition, we’ve taken on two new advisors: Cryptography Advisor Prof. Roman Oliynykov and Technical Advisor Stepan Gershuni. The pair have experience in spades, with Stepan serving as a partner at cryptocurrency-focused fund Block Bits Capital, and Roman a highly-regarded a Ukrainian cryptographer, IT security researcher and lecturer. More details here.

Gladius get onboard

As detailed previously, we can now count Gladius as our latest partner. Gladius is a decentralized ecosystem that operates on top of the blockchain, enabling anyone to rent out their unused bandwidth to form a part of the company’s CDN and DDoS protection network. Think Cloudflare but for blockchain. As part of the deal, we’ll be implementing the REMME PKI (d) protocol with Gladius services. We look forward to working with Gladius as we aim to bring our network security products to as many companies as possible. Reducing DDoS attacks and establishing a decentralized system of certificate management are among our top priorities.

Hot off the press

We’ll finish by by bringing you the latest on what the media have been saying about REMME lately. ABI Research have included us on their list of Hot Tech Innovators. Their influential report “covers 15 innovative startups in the blockchain space that offer a cybersecurity-focused solution, for both consumers and enterprise”. We’re honored to be listed alongside so many other stellar startups and enterprises that share our determination to make the web a safer place. We’ve also had coverage on CryptoCoinNews and Hackernoon in its feature titled “Will Blockchain Kill the Passwords?”, and a basic report on ICO Rating.

See you next month for more news and developments from Team REMME 👋.
