Hello!
Welcome to the month of March and I hope it brings you nothing but good things. It also happens to be one of my favorites: it marks the start of the rainy season and everyone gets to celebrate women all month long. What more could a girl want? Plenty apparently 😆
So let’s keep this short and sweet and get right down to it.
Our Valentine’s Challenge
The catch was to create a grinchy character out to destroy Valentine’s and sick of Romance in general (no mushy stuff for us) and I dare say our writer’s brought it on.
- Is love a thief or a traitor? Does it fuck you up, rage in like a warrior in battle, leaving you empty and depleted? You hate the pain but love the rush? Ameaka asks you to find out in the ballsy poem, ‘Fuck Love’
- Kuna Ngwanchang is definitely the ultimate Valentine slayer in her poem ‘Who Ruined Valentine’s?
- Love can be many things; an accident, war or a disaster. We know the risks, or not, yet are brave enough to take the shot. Ending up a survivor or a casualty. Ubangoh Loretha tells the tale in ‘Casualties’

March’s Prompt
This month is Women's Month and we would like to contribute to the conversation. In ‘We Should All Be Feminists’, Author Chimamanda Ngozie Adichie says,
“My own definition is a feminist is a man or a woman who says, yes, there’s a problem with gender as it is today and we must fix it, we must do better.
So the question to answer is:
What does Feminism mean to you?
Give an answer in under 750 words using any format, although essay or opinion piece is what we prefer.
