Faking Orgasms

Faking orgasms teaches partners how not to please you! Orgasm is often taken as a signal that a partner has done everything right, so you don’t build honesty or compatible sex patterns.

Consider why and when this happens. Some do it to bring sex to a close, which implies they weren’t really enjoying themselves to begin with. Sex without orgasm can be very pleasurable; I’m not suggesting sex is only worthwhile with orgasm. But some who fake it are engaging in sex performatively and not really connected to their bodies and the way pleasure and arousal build to orgasm.

Some fake orgasms because they know what would please them more, but don’t tell their partner what that is. Some say they fear the kind of loss of control orgasm implies, so they try to end sex via a faked orgasm before that happens.
