“What is it, doctor?”
“I really don’t see anything wrong with you, Miss Chambers, but given the symptoms you described, it’s best for you to stay in bed.”
“Oh, yes, doctor! I would be happy to stay in bed!”
“And no physical exertion for a while.”
“No physical exertion?”
“Based on what you told me, you need to get your rest.”
“No physical exertion at all?”
“I’m afraid not, Miss Chambers.”
What was I thinking? My friend warned me that pretending to have the vapors wasn’t going to get the good doctor into bed, but did I listen?
And alas, another horny hypochondriac goes to sleep frustrated…and alone.
