Do You Believe in Love at First Sight? The Science of Love & First Impressions.

Next up, Joe Duncan takes us on a deep dive, down into all the little nooks and crannies of romantic attraction with Do You Believe in Love at First Sight? The Science of Love & First Impressions.

Did you know that, on average, most people’s brains can determine whether someone’s attractive (to them) in a fraction of a second? And did you know there really is a “love drug” that makes people experience something like falling in love?

Joe covers all of that and much more with a blend of heartwarming personal stories and concrete scientific facts. Check it out!

New Battles in the Modern War on Sex

Over on The Science of Sex, Joe has been busy interviewing researchers in the field who study sex for a living and clinicians, licensed psychologists, sex therapists, and more.

He recently interviewed Dr. David Ley, Ph.D., a clinical psychologist and sex researcher, who says firmly that “sex addiction” is a myth that does not exist. But the conversation went much deeper than that.

In this one-hour and forty-five-minute talk, Dr. David Ley, Ph.D., and Joe talk about how the current war on sexuality came to be, how the myth of porn and sex addiction get started, and how we can view sexuality in a healthier way.

One theme that crops up is the importance of self-forgiveness and self-love in loving — and having sex with — other people.

You can watch the video interview right here on Substack or tune in to your favorite podcast network for the audio podcast (Apple Podcasts, Spotify).

The Power of Seducing With Your Eyes

You guessed it, Carlyn delivers yet again with The Power of Seducing With Your Eyes.

Drawing on famous historical figures, Carlyn speaks with authority about the deadly power of the eyes. If looks could kill, some eyes would be murderous.

Gay Men Can Love Straight Porn, Too

Care to explore the kaleidoscopic and nebulous world of sexual orientation? Do you dare to explore the idea that sex and sexual orientation aren’t as fixed as many people believe them to be? Sieran Lane delivers with Gay Men Can Love Straight Porn, Too.
